Official BEST WISHES TO BRENDAN SHANAHAN GDT Feb 18 : NYR vs CHI, 3:30pm NBC
Quote:
“I think with the injuries he's had from his career, it's definitely frustrating for him. But he channels that frustration in a good way. He doesn't sulk about injuries. He just works harder.”- SHANAHAN
“He divines remedies against injuries; he knows how to turn serious accidents to his own advantage; whatever does not kill him makes him stronger”
I'm sure you will do the same shanny, I'm sure you will. Get well soon- From Rangers fans all over the world. This Game Thread is for you.
P.S...This will be my last GDT, some take over after this.
The Blackhawks changed their goaltending rotation again Saturday, benching Nikolai Khabibulin for a second consecutive game. Patrick Lalime will get the start today against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden
Larry Brooks wrote the Rangers might re-call Al Montoya after seeing Steve Valiquette flop around his crease like a fish.Only problem is Montoya has played back to back games and is coming off a minor knee sprain. Why risk playing Montoya for three straight games in case Henrik Lundqvist can't go today(if the shoulder has swolen up overnight)? The Rangers could put Marek Malik on IR and re-call Ivan Baranka if they don't want to use Thomas Pock
Valiquette, Montoya, Holt, Westlund > $2.5 mil. injury-prone, 5-hole the size of texas and "first shot is usually in" Weekes...
Man, I really didn't think Valiquette was gonna flop around that bad... jeeeeez... the AHL aint the NHL... altough he did stop a not-so-well taken penalty shot and Rachunek beautifully scored with his elbow, he looked very shakey out there...
time to the clean goalie house for 2008... goodbye weekes, goodbye valiquette, give holt his chance in hartford to either make it or brake it... apart from that, is there no other swedish goalie that was drafted that wants to come over and give it a shot?
Rangers better kill the Hawks tonight... from all the games i've seen them, live or on tv, last night's performance was the all-time low..
in the hall we missed your "rangers suck" in yesterdays GTD, so I blame the loss on you jk
They need to come out tonight with purpose unlike yesterdays disaster. Get the puck in deep, make the D work hard, draw PP's and capitalize on them!!!! They took alot of lazy penalty's last night and if they do the same tonight they will be in trouble. Lets win this for Shanny and get the 2 pts with a solid effort and then take it to Jersey tuesday. LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
Also i'll be there today in section 324 seats 13 and 14. I'll have a home blue Lundqvist jersey on and my GF will have a pink Rangers jersey, if you see me say hi

We need to come out HITTING and FAST tonight. We need to see the same effort that won us 3 games with a score of 14-3!
Hit them hard all night and really control the tempo out there.
Really, we should win this game about 10-0, but we'll see. The Hawks pretty much have no one right now that worries me outside of Havlat.

Rangers need to not worry about the physical end of things and just find a way to win today... Win as many as possible until Shanahan comes back.
Gotta keep your eye on the ball here... Winning games is the only thing that matters so i'm hopeful that the Rangers dont go overreacting to any hard check thrown by Chicago.
