His no trade clause is just for few teams .

understand ?

FEW teams ONLY

like , " i don't want to be trade to this , this and that team " . You see ? that means a no trade clause , but that doesn't mean that they can't trade him .

If ya did, Koivu would of been traded away by Montreal, 5-10 years ago.
HERE HERE!!!

Amazing how so many of you where all behind him when he was doing well and the team was doing well only a month or so ago and now all of a sudden you are like rats jumping from a sicking ship!!!

As a Hab fan over 30, the Koivu era has been pretty lousy and forgettable for me anyway. I won't be too upset to put it behind us and move on to the next era, with a new on-ice leader. I'm not calling for his immediate trade, but if that $5 mil could be put to better use, I wouldn't get weepy over his departure. He'll never be a PPG player again, and his intangibles are negligible at this point.
I pretty much agree, and I resent the smugness of Koivu loyalists who imply that you can't be a real fan if you'd consider trading him.

Wanting the team to move in another direction doesn't mean that you hate the player or the man. It doesn't mean that "he sux0rz!" It just might be time to change the team's personality and make-up when (or if) the opportunity arises.

I think any team can use a Saku Koivu ... ESPECIALLY the Montreal Canadiens ... but I think this current slide shows he's not a captain that can get his players to go to war with him ...

Maybe if he had less pressure he'd be able to get to where he wants ...

This is no knock on Koivu ... I just think that he lacks the quality of uniter, he is a great example on the ice ... but he's no uniter ...

This team needs a uniter.

Saying that Koivu is not the leader that can get his players to go to war with is your opinion and I'll give you that. *Cause I'm such a nice guy*

But if you are Koivu, are you feeling confident having the following line mates to go to war with.

Higgins *I like him but he's not a top line player yet*
Ryder *Not a bad player, but definitely not a top line player either*
Lats *I love this kid's potential, but also not a top line player yet*

I could go on, but I think you know what I'm getting at.

Koivu's numbers are monstrous for a man who had Craig Darby as one of his wingers for a couple seasons.

No way do we trade him.
