Hitmen getting hammered tonight in Moose Jaw. It means nothing unless our boys can hang onto our lead against the Pats, 3-2 in the third.

Honestly, you guys got a steal. I think he'll become a very dependable d-man and become a Letang-type - PP specialist and great passer. I was really wishing the Oilers would sign him, but our loss is your gain.

No, his deal kicks in next season, he'll stay on the Kings until then. Hopefully he has a nice playoffs for you guys and continues to develop his game.

I guess I might get on your bandwagon since my Blades aren't going anywhere this season.

Hey guys, since I'm here...

How has Griffin Reinhart looked lately? He's been dropping the gloves and seems like he has a bit of a mean streak going after the return from illness. He's a pretty important player for us so any insight on his play would be greatly appreciated.

Cue IATL's 'he's been solid defensively' response...

Just brutal, soft, weak defensively, and panics under pressure.
Frankly you should pass the word on to Snow to trade him to the Oilers.

(Seriously, the Oil Kings are a different team without him in the lineup, he's never allowed to leave.)

LOL. Et tu, Brute?

How NHL ready do you think he is? Snow has a history of not rushing his defense prospects. AHL time is almost required for them after finishing out their Junior eligibility. Reinhart fills a MASSIVE need. What's the verdict in your opinion?

Then it's pretty safe to say he'll start next year in Bridgeport. He's certainly not NHL-ready. He'll adjust to the pro pace nicely in the A.

I think he could step in and play, but spending some time in the AHL and playing a bigger role would certainly be best for him long term.

Is it just me, or can anyone else see the Oilers taking a flyer on a guy like Sautner with one of their many, many, (MANY) late picks this year? Every Oil King game I've seen the kid has looked solid, and he is a ridiculous +62 right now.

Absolutely not. Sautner has been a walking disaster every season up until this one. He still makes gaffes that leave people shaking their heads. The only reason he looks better now is he is older than most of the other players out there. His plus minus numbers are a function of the team he plays on.

I suppose I should have phrased it as "Is it a good idea for the Oilers to take a flyer..." we both know they will, with the ocean of late picks we have

He is old enough now that if they did want him they could just sign him as a ufa next year like the Avs just did with Corbett.

Corbett>Sautner by quite a bit imo, and I dont see Corbett ever making it to the NHL.

Do we get the tie breaker because we have more wins if we end up tied with Calgary?

If Kootenay beats Calgary tonight, we'll have first place locked up.

If not, we just have to beat Red Deer once on the weekend. Should be a great crowd on Sunday!

OKs lock up first place with a win over the Rebels tonight. It honestly should have happened a lot earlier, but the team played pretty poorly (for their standards) over the last 2 weeks.

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what happens tomorrow because the OKs have nothing to play for while the Rebels need a win to make the playoffs after PA won tonight.

If the Rebels beat us today, we'll see them in Round 1.
If we beat them, we host Prince Albert and Leon Draisaitl.
Should be fun to watch Red Deer playing for their lives today.

Sadly we are sitting a bunch of our good players tonight. Kulda , Samuelson, Reinhardt, Lazar are all sitting. Probably want to let them get a breather before the playoffs, will make it harder to beat Red Deer.

Yup. 1-0 right off the bat. With the first playoff game on Saturday, I'm not sure they need the rest.

Maybe they don't want the extra travel, or maybe they'd rather not face Draisaitl, but the OKs are effectively throwing the game.

Don't RD and PA have to play a tiebreaker game if RD wins today though?

Makes even more sense then. Down 2-0, outshot 11-2, worst game of the year in the making.

A lot of fans showed up today hoping to be entertained. Embarrassing.

I hope you didn't get any playoff tix.

Anyway, if this is what the team will look like after Lazar and co. graduate next year, we're in for a rebuild for a few years.
