Is sitting him going to give him talent?

the mind boggles around here sometimes.

Bergeron just isn't good, which is why he sucks so much. He's playing like bergeron, which happens to be bad.

You are far off on this one, Bergeron's problem is not that he lacks talent. The guy is a fantastic skater, he shoots the puck better than most in the league and he's also fairly tough and solid for a little guy. Bergeron's problems stem from poor decision making - the guy doesn't think the game very well and he tends to make a lot of little stupid mistakes that add up over time.

He has the potential to be a Brian Rafalski type of player (yes, he certainly has the talent level to get there) but he simply has to stop making mistakes or he'll keep costing the team. Unfortunately, I'm not confident that turn around will come any time soon and I also don't think the Oilers can afford to keep giving him butter soft minutes and sheltering him when guys like Gilbert and Chorney are on the way.

Mr. Marcopolo is blaming our coaching staff for all our problems.

The point is moot now, but this was a ridiculous poll. A bottom pairing guy with a big shot or a developing young beast of a defenseman who already plays in all situations save for PP

It's Greene and it's not close.

Isn't the point 'moo', you know, like a cow's opinion?

I voted after the fact but still no comparison, Greene has upside at least. If we could pair him with someone who isn't going to drag him down like Bergeron, then he is way more effective.

Greene isn't that good...I think he's the dumbest d-man we have....how many times can that guy ice the puck in a game or take a stupid penalty? Not to mention the guy can't make an outlet pass to save his life nor can he shoot worth a damn...

the only reason he's better than MAB is his size and his age

I'll take Matt Greene. The guy is a bit slow, but he's tough in the corners and drops the gloves when challenged. Although, he's having trouble with hooking and holding calls, he's my type of defenseman.

I was a big fan of Bergeron up until this year. His speed is great when forwards are trying to drive to the net from the outside, but still gets out muscled in the corners and behind the net. He's to small for an NHL d-man.

Size, age, potential, strength, defensive ability, ability to kill penalties.

Greene isn't the dumbest defenseman on the team, he's a young defenseman learning and making mistakes, they tend to do that when they are ROOKIES.
