Was there a risk in Simmonds getting a 3rd man there? I was scared he was gonna get one.

Yes. He got really lucky on that one. They probably let it slide because Erskine started the whole damn thing and he went after Vinny of all people.

erskine definitely was starting everything.its like he just started swinging and vinny just happened to be closest guy to him.like to see erskine knocked out.another thing about erskine, isnt he straight out of central casting if you looking for a goon hockey player.

I love that the players on this team stand up for each other. That's not something you can say for every team.

Simmonds is the man.

He's an okay bottom pairing defender who can play the PK on top of his physical skills so I wouldn't say he's a flat out goon. John Scott of Buffalo fits that bill for in my opinion, he flat out sucks at hockey.

Love how Brayden Schenn was trying to get in there too. Erskine would have destroyed him but it just speaks to the comradery between these guy, specifically of the players on that line but the whole team as well.

Maybe it's just me but when the Flyers jumped out to the big lead, the refs were looking for ways to keep the Caps in the game to prevent more brawling. Some of those calls were iffy, especially the one on Streit. If the Flyers lead had become greater, there's no doubt in my mind that it would have broke loose, especially since Wilson didn't get a game for fighting in the first period.

So I take it they have Kerry Fraser, Howie Meeker and pictograms over on the Caps board?
