Boy Kristo is having a good yr. kid needs to be looked at in camp. If they make the playoffs I'm thinking miller, fast, Kristo, Allen, mcilrath . No vets please

Agree in principle problem is they have to start and can't be a spare. A lot depends on what they do with some UFAs like Stralman, Diaz, Moore, Boyle and of course Richie. I think only Miller wins a job outright but the others will get time and do well. They better or else we are f-ed. Add Lindberg to the group.

Eh, Kristo got off to a flying start but has cooed of considerably since. He's a good prospect, but I'd definitely place him behind Miller, Fast and Lindberg at this point. I'm not terribly impressed with him on most nights.

Looks like we might have a player in Fast. Really excited about Miller and him.

Ryan Bourque sort of quietly has 16 goals. Am I wrong for thinking he could help a team out on their fourth line or on penalty kills? Is he undersized for those roles?

This is what bothers me. If Ryan Bourque can have 16 goals in the A, how can we trust anyone's scoring there? Granted he's an older player.

Not really, as long as he plays a physical game despite his stature he would otherwise be perfect for both roles. Unfortunately for him the fourth line in New York is solid right now. If someone got hurt I guess it would be nice to see, but Dorsett will be playing in that case. I don't know if Bourque ever gets his chance here in NY.

The fourth line this year are all UFAs so you never know what will happen.

Borque's been going to the net a lot this year to get most of his goals.

No reason he can't become a Ryan Carter type player. He's worth resigning to a two-year deal.

i would not mind that and if does not work out, maybe the Avs can overpay for him at the draft since his day won a cup with him

Yeah, I could definitely see him being useful. It's too bad this team went through that Mission/Stajcer/**** phase this year. A run at the playoffs would have been fun.

I'd go to war with this lineup:

Kreider - Stepan - Nash
Hagelin - Richards - MSL
Miller - Brassard - MZA
Fasth - Lindberg - Boyle (bring back Boyle, let Moore go, or vice versa...but my preference is Boyle..i think hes a solid 4th liner)
switch that and we are in business. Moore does what Boyle does and then has actual skill on top of it. And although I liked what Boyle did at the end of the game last night with Bellimore, Moore is also more of an agitator which we need on this team.

He cooled off due to the pile of crap that was the Pack lineup after the first 15 games or so. He's played well all year offensively and the numbers have come when it wasn't one on three entering the offensive zone.

Why? Ryan Bourque has talent and was a good scorer in juniors. Him scoring 16 goals says nothing except Ryan Bourque has 16 goals

Same, not a 3-Zone player. Not an elite scorer to make up for the difference.

At this point Miller and Fast are at the top of the depth chart with Lindberg following up. Fast will make it because he is a RH shot, and the Rangers just have 1 forward that is a RH shot unless you count Dorsett as part of a winning formula. Fast is fast, and can play a bottom 6 role, but I think he needs to toughen up as a few hits tends to rattle him

On the back end there is Allen and McIlrath, either of whom will play depending on LD and RD needs.

Allen's cap hit will be higher than John Moore's next year (Moore isn't getting a huge raise), and McIlrath will replace stretch 4 defenseman Anton Stralman so it is more likely that McIlrath plays.

Miller killing it tonight, goal and 3 assists. 33 pts in 28 games as a 20 yr old. Really impressive.

Does anyone think Miller has 60 point potential?

I do. People were suggesting trading him for Ryan Kesler. Honestly I believe he could be almost as good someday. Sixty isn't a stretch at all for him, and 70 is certainly possible if he continues to develop and refine his game. He's already too good for the AHL at 20.

I was putting a lineup together for the 2014-15 Rangers for salary cap purposes yesterday, and I found myself penciling him in on 4th line LW.

I'm a huge fan of the Miller pick, but surely the question should be can he hit 50, not 60? The last Rangers drafted player to hit 60 pts as a Ranger was Amonte so saying 60 will be easy is quite a stretch.

I see Miller as a very good 40-50pt player (20-20). Maybe, for a year or two in his prime he can crack 60

When did I say it'll be easy though? I also didn't ask if he'll be a perennial 60 point player, just if he has that potential.

Yes, maybe 70 if he has the right linemates. He has been incredibly underrated here. Kid tied with Gaudreau and Trouba for the lead in points for the 2013 Gold Medal Team USA at Juniors. He has better offensive potential than Stepan, he has a much more dynamic game.

You didn't, Ail said it wouldn't be a stretch for him.

I'm just pointing out that hitting 60 seems to be a large issue for Rangers drafted fwds

J.T. Miller registers a 4 point night with 1-3-4 and +4 rating. Jesper Fast 1 goal and +3 and Ryan Bourque tallies 1-2-3 +4. #NYR

Damn. Miller with 7 points (2-5) in the last two games

I don't see how past Rangers draftees have any relevance to Miller.
