Let the grinders move up.
Leave the kids in to make a good run in the calder playoffs. Then call up a few of them to pair on the same line, while shipping off the grinders to some godforsaken hole.

Hope that Trotz is gone by next season.

Same.

I'd like to get Laviolette but Housley would also be a good option based on his offensive mind and his success with young players.

I will be surprised if Trotz is back.

The offseason will be interesting.

Long as Poile is GM Trotz isn't going anywhere I don't think.

Hockey Diva: you're right completely forgot about Moser being out. I still would expect a grinder to get the call over one of the skill guys. Hopefully I am wrong again. It was fun getting a glimpse at Forsberg at the end of last year.
Yep! The ref failed to eject Brad Mills for the second game in a row after getting a major penalty when he intentionally (and successfully) tried to injure an Admirals player. Mills gave Cehlin a forearm to the head, giving him a concussion. Cehlin was out for a third of last season due to the same thing. No penalty was called by the two refs working that game. I don't think that was an accident.

Last night Mills boarded Tousignant in the second period. Tousi left the game but did come back for the third period. Another guy hit him in the mouth with a stick, but there was no call. Liambas kneed Mills in the third period and was ejected. I guess only players from Rockford can play like goons and get away with it in the AHL.

Moser was blind sided by Bobby Shea. I heard that his arm is in a sling. He may be done for the season. I think Bobby Shea should be suspended for as long as Moser is out. Mills should be suspended forever for his own good. He is a marked man.

It was rumored that Holland could have replaced jarnkrok with one of the other many quality prospects Detroit has. Detroit fans wanted Jarnkrok for the fact he was the only center in the system. With Mantha being untouchable would you rather have had Jarnkrok or any one of these instead:

Pulkkinen?
Jurco?
Sheahan?
Ferraro?
Athanasiou?
Frk?
Mrazek?
Sproul?
Oulette?
Backman?
Marchenko?
Jensen?
Almqvist?

Hell, I bet most fans would have done Kindl. Who would you have taken instead of Jarnkrok and who wouldn't you have taken?

The only player I think I personally would have taken would be Jarnkrok, who THN has as Detroit's #3 prospect behind only Mantha and Pulkkinen. I think Jarnkrok "fits" our team the best, and additionally, it sounds like he's a player Preds mgmt has coveted for a long time, hoping to draft him in 2010 but missing the opportunity.

unless any of those are centers with higher potential we probably needed Jarnkrok. We are looking at Fisher retiring soon, and still not sure if Wilson will cut it at center or not.

Pete and Terry kept flashing updates on Captain Hook and FF9 during the STL and CBJ games; sounds like they both had a great weekend.

For those who were joking about can Jarnkrok play defense, Coach Evason had this to say after Friday's game.

Quote:
"He played a little defense at the end, just to see if he could do everything for us," Evason said. "We only had two or three 'D' so we said, 'go and play 'D.' He's a real good player, both ends of the rink. He killed penalties, took faceoffs, played on the PP, five on five he's sound. We're excited to have him here."

Wow. The AHL answer to Sergei Fedorov.

Hope he turns out good at the NHL level. A decent-quality center would be massively useful.

I heard Tousi on the radio talking about getting his lower lip stitched. He said it was the same guy, meaning Mills again. How does that guy get away with so much illegal garbage? I haven't heard of any suspension so far.

Would be pretty cool to see him and Forsberg make a good pair for a long time once they make it up.

On the Admirals site. Also, the AHL allows you to watch old games for $3.99.

Neither Mills nor Shea have been suspended. The AHL has become the Federal League!

The good news is that the Admirals have passed Rockford in the standings. Rockford has played 2 more games. Good bye IceHogs. I hope that Charlotte catches you and you are playing golf on April 21st!
