Plenty of talent. Just couldn't stay healthy. Definitely an NHLer. If he has a healthy, productive season in Switzerland hopefully some teams will take the risk. It's really too bad concussions side tracked his career.

Extremely soft, terrible defensively, incredibly inconsistent, and ridiculously injury prone. Every team in the league has probably got a guy just like him in the minors.

Thank you, I didn't know I had my dates so wrong. My point remains, however, that I doubt Mueller has the endurance for a full NHL schedule.

Don't recall if he has a wing preference but f he can play LW, I wouldn't mind the Jackets taking a look at him. Sorely need LW help with some skill.

And yet he's still probably in the top 100 NHL players in terms of his shot. Every team could use an offensive guy with the potential he has. An acceptable defensive game can be taught or worked around by having 2 other responsible guys on his line.

Mueller is definitely a guy that can be good for any NHL team.

But, expectations should be tempered.

Best situation for him is to give him 3rd line even strength minutes, but to use him as a specialist for the PP. Hes an excellent option on the PP for either the point or half boards.

Concussions will never take away that canon of his. And hes got good hands.

Ideal PP specialist. Just properly monitor his minutes on a game to game basis and he should be fairly productive for a cheap price.

Wasnt he having issues with playing in the NHL because it was distracting him from religion?

Wonder if that has changed or if he is going to have the same issue again... guy had skill.

He was awful here last year, 2 goals in his last 30 games, ended up being a healthy scratch a couple times. The worst team in the league was so unimpressed with him they didn't bother to offer him a new contract, why would anyone want him?

Probably not durable enough for the NHL. I assume the NLA is much less physical than the NHL.

Any team wanting to add depth for the playoffs should be interested. Whether they're under the 50 contract limit, is another thing.

In case anyone wanted to know. Mueller started having Concussion issues long before Rob Blake. Rob Niedermeyer got the ball rolling on that one. With a nice elbow to the head smashing it between the boards.

I remember a few Bruins fans wanted to give him a shot a year back... Especially if Kelly goes, he could be a good risk to take... We're looking at X-Soderberg-Smith/Eriksson as our 3rd line again. He'd be with some real good linemates.

Doubt it'll happen, plenty of our prospects deserve chances, but he should gather some interest.

I bet against you. Have you ever heard of Ilya Kovalchuk?

For this season ... Vancouver makes sense. He could be a short-term replacement for Santorelli and he is a gun on the shootout ... which might make a difference in a tight playoff race. No reason for a Buffalo, Edmonton et.c to claim him ... but another bubble team might do it.

For next season ... plenty of teams would take him on a 2 way deal.

Matthew Lombardi could also do a comeback. He is the best player in NLA.

Hmm. Few references to how soft he was. Injury prone, yep. And skillful.

But didn't he play wearing jerseys stitched together with kittens?
