Like, poke at the puck as it goes by or something dude, don't just let the guy skate around you with impunity.

The worse was when a puck ended up right in front of him, pretty much in his skates. He looks down at it. Does nothing. Opposing forward just strides up and shoots it between his legs. If anything, at least kick that thing to the corner, don't just let it be!

But if you guys keep him sheltered, limit the Dzone starts, and let him rove on offense he can be useful. I don't think I've ever seen a Dman so completely lost in his own end though.
^ This. What Beef Invictus said. This is a very accurate description, and just when you're about ready to completely write him off, he has a game where you think: 'where the h*ll did that come from".

I know it doesn't happen successfully in the NHL very often - but the guy should be a forward. He's a big guy, good skater, good hands, hard shot and next to no sense at all in his own end. Put Wayne Simmonds brain in him and he's a good power forward in this league until his shoulder gets wrecked again.

I assume because Boston is deep enough that they want him to practice a few times which makes sense if there is no real drop off in talent without him.

For now, Julien said that the defensemen’s roles are undetermined. He’s not sure how long it will take for Meszaros to get acclimated to the Bruins’ system.

“We need to see him practice a little bit and skate with us and we’ll see,” Julien said. “At one point you’re going to see him in our lineup, and a lot of it will depend on players’ play. All of them.”

Not a bad first game. Shot what felt like 10 times, Had a few defensive gaffes but also made some good plays. Was very noticeable and I'm sure playing with Chara helped

You realize he's been in the league 9 years now right

And that sums him up. Very active offensively, makes mistakes on D. And yes, having Chara as his partner will certainly help him.

All of them, except the one that went in the back of the net

Actually, he had 6 SOG, most of which created a rebound and one that found the back of the net. I don't think he missed on many

Chara plays down low on the powerplay this year. Mez took Dougie's spot for the night and Smith gave him the pass from the other point for his goal.

That would be nice for us. I wonder what he is looking for as far as a new contract goes? I have not looked yet where Boston is cap wise but you know he is going to want at least 3.5 mil and up.

I think he would take 2 years at $3m AAV.

I also like the guy. It's not his fault bad injuries screwed him up for two whole years.
