Not saying Josh Gorges isn't important. But I don't think Gorges injury is going to be a big blow to our playoffs chances.

The biggest issue with Gorges injury is that we might see more of Murray or Bouillon.

It's time for other guys to stand up too.

Maybe I'm just way too optimistic about making the playoffs.
You won't see more Murray or Bouillon. Murray will still play bottom pairing and Bouillon will stay in the stands.

On another topic, the Price's injury is becoming a huge concern. I guess he wanted to play in Sochi badly. Was he already injured ? Did Babcock knew ? And if so, why did he play him ? To win only ? Or he did not care because Price is not a Wings goalie i

If I can recall..

Babcock said he didn't know about the injury until the game vs the Wings.
Price said he didn't tell anyone about the injury until he returned.

Price probably didn't want to tell anyone about the injury because he knew he would likely not play another game for Team Canada.

Yes he plays with heart and sacrifices... that's no longer enough
Every shot that's blocked is a puck that becomes a zero chance of becoming a goal.

There's more to being a DMan than having a great shot.

You're right. It's about being able to play with the puck, and keeping it out of the d zone.

Gorges is on heels constantly which is the reason he blocks so many shots.

Tinordi can block as many shots as Gorges, but Tinordi can play.

Gorges is Hal Gill without the reach and frame.

ps: i'll confess I dislike him, i dislike his old school cliches, his comments about PK, his ass kissing ways, his sense of (false) leadership, everything. He's a tool in my eyes.

Kudos for your honesty. It's ok to dislike him. And it's ok for me to say that he is very useful for the Habs with his skillset.

Wow it will ruin his great shot. We should trade him while he has value. Nobody will want him once his cannon isn't there.

Even if we still make it, losing Gorges might drop us down to a wildcard spot and a 1st-round series with either Boston or Pittsburgh. I know I'd much rather face TB or Toronto in the 1st round.

Gorges has been mediocre for close to 2 seasons now. His shot blocking will be missed but that's about it.

Wish we went after someone better than Weaver if it was known that Gorges was going to miss some extended time.

Weaver, Beaulieu, Pateryn will fill in nicely. I'm not too concerned.

Also, this is Tinordi's big chance.

I would not bring up Beaulieu to leave him in the stands.

tinordi and bealieu should have been in the lineup long time ago
we can all see it except our coaching staff
theyd rather have vets in there making mistakes that they wont learn from and reapeat rather than rookies making mistakes they can learn from and improve.

Thank god we won gold. I think i would not survive the drama if we lost and Price didn't tell anyone he was hurt until after the gold medal game.

Gorges will be back in time for the playoffs, if he take 4 week he will have the time to play 2-3 regular season games.

Tinordi-Subban.

It would take serious balls to have Tinordi and Beaulieu in the lineup together. They both have huge upsides, but let's not pretend they won't cost us goals and games with rookie mistakes. I wouldn't mind seeing it, honestly, because they will learn. The question is whether they'll learn soon enough to benefit the team in the playoffs, and how many games we'll lose while they're learning.

I'm not a fan of Gorges, and I think he has to be moved next year to give his place to a youngster. But it will hurt greatly this season.
  • I don't think Tinordi is ready. Still makes too many mistakes and too often out of the play.
  • Beaulieu is inconsistent.
  • Weaver is a poor-man Gorges (that says a lot)
  • Murray played good recently, but the increase in icetime is starting to show. Not efficient on the last trip. Plays too much.

Well, I don't like Gorges, but the PK looked horrible so far without him.

+1...
Sorry josh if you read this but my opinion would be different if you didnt project so much jealousy and hate (because jelly) vs Subban.

Bournival not practicing yet with his teamates ?

Was it his first concussion ?

It seems to take very long to recover beccause the hit did not look that hard.

If he takes so much time to get better, the next concussion could end his carreer.

You would prefer Bouillon ?

Give the time to Weaver to have real practices with his teamates.

No.

But I actually liked Beaulieu with Murray before the OG way more than Weaver with Murray.
