Harding or Westblom Long Term Potential?

Who is higher in the long term plans for Minny? Harding or Westblom. What is the scoop on Westblom as a goalie prospect?

So far this is good news to hear. I just drafted Harding in a prospect draft for an FHL league.

Will Hardng have a chance to show his stuff this year in the NHL? With Fernandez being injured, I would imagine (hoping?) that Harding would play at least once but I am not going to hold my breath.

It all depends on Backstrom. However, if he keeps up the great play, it might help Harding next year. Will we be able to afford backstrom next year? Probably not since his great play is putting him on everyone's radar. So Harding would then get moved up....

Harding

I've watched both of them play in the Dub and Harding wins HANDS DOWN.

Agreed, there's nothing wrong with Westblom as a prospect, but he's not in Harding's class. Westblom is a guy who will play for a contract this year, hope to turn pro next year or the year after, and make his way up the ranks, potentially challenging for a roster spot in 3-4 years. He has been an anchor on a weak Kelowna team this season, and has done quite well, despite having perhaps the youngest team in the CHL in front of him.

Living in Kelowna and watching Westblom play over the last couple years I cannot really see him every being any better then an average AHL goalie at best. He is ok, but an NHL goalie??? not likely.

Re-sign Backstrom, trade Fernandez.
Let Backstrom start about 50 games, Harding 32 games or play which one of the two goalies gets on a hot streak.
