That being said, I still see us signing Verner tomorrow.
Sounded more like you guys are leaning towards Davis over Verner as of this afternoon.

There are so many sources, and almost all of them contradict each other.

http://www.stampedeblue.com/2014/3/9...h-vontae-davis

There's no saying which source is more valid than the other, so it's more just a gut feeling, but we'll see.

I think that the Skins have a better chance landing Verner, IMO.

There are a TON of teams in on him. Giants and Skins included.

I'd rather see the Jets get him than the Skins for sure.

Sucks that Asamoah looks like he's going to Atlanta. Gotta shift our focus towards Schwartz or Beadles now.

Hah, that's the exact opposite of what was coming out yesterday. Funny how things change.

I really have no clue what they do for center if they don't land EDS or BDLP. Unless they take Lewan and move Pugh over to C.

I'm hearing so much from the Jets end it's insane. My personal source and some local radio is saying Verner, while many others are saying Davis. To be honest, I think I'd prefer Davis. He has experience in man-to-man already, while Verner is more of a cover-2 guy.

If we don't end up with one of them, it'll be a huge disappointment.

Don't you know? Lewan is a locker-room cancer. I heard he once rescued a cat from a tree only to rip his head off. He's the devil. In addition, the Giants NEVER take anyone with brash or aggressive personalities, ESPECIALLY not with a first round pick.

Jordan Raanan thinks the Giants want Boothe at C.

I think he's full of **** or is being leaked something by the Giants to tell EDS to lower his asking price.

Tampa Bay should be neutered as a franchise. Good God what a joke.

I like the signing of Michael Johnson. But releasing Revis after what they moved for him is LOL.

A 1st, a 4th and no guaranteed money.

Sounds like an NHL deadline deal. Is it really that bad for the Bucs? Johnson was a good pickup, IMO.

Draft picks are a ton more valuable in the NFL than they are in the NHL.

Yeah, I don't even think that there is a comparison in the value. NFL draft picks are exponentially more important which is why it's so rare to see a team trade a first for a player.

Still, thats only two picks over two drafts. Not great to lose them, but not a death blow.

I completely disagree. Losing a 1st round pick for a year of a player when your team sucks is a massive, massive blow. 1 year of Revis vs 5+ years of Richardson is a gigantic difference, man.

I agree more than anyone when it comes to draft picks and young players, but the Bucs took a shot. It didn't work, but what I usually hear from teams like that is they have no shot at top players, we'll they got it, and it didn't pan out. They just signed a top FA defensive player, A good draft this year could make them totally viable again. Thats why I don't see it as THAT big a deal.

Because it IS a big deal. Again, it's why you just don't see first round picks traded for players. It's way too much of a risk to take. And then to CUT the guy you traded for after a year? It's some of the worst asset management I have ever seen.
