The only chance for Gustafsson to ever hit the ice again this season is a major injury to any of their PMD. Berube will never play him instead of Grossmann or Schenn. It just ain't happening... never ever...now way.
I agree, but I personally just take it as a running joke at this point. Every once in a while I also like to remind people that Hal Gill is also technically on this team which is also a bit of a running joke.

The Grossmann vs Gus thing is, for me at least, half running joke and half serious. By half serious I mean I'm 100% serious about it but half the time I post it I'm doing it as a joke.

Devils-Flyers games are always tough, I have a feeling the flyguys are due for a win tomorrow night! 4-3 Flyers.

I know almost everyone already knows this, but this is pretty much a must win game tonight. As sad as it sounds, these are the easiest two points on the schedule this month.

Easy according to the standings but not based on the more recent history against this team

Somehow the Flyers have issues solving the Devils' system. If I had to name two teams I would not have the Flyers playing against in the PO it would almost certainly be the NJ Devils and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Yeah, that's another reason why this month is just brutal. We should be thrilled that they've gotten 7 out of a possible 8 points so far.

One of those games where Gus and his speed/passing would be very helpful against a strong forechecking devils team, but I'm sure we'll see Grossmann out there passing to every Devil he can find.

In case of multiple injuries in the playoffs IMO. In the playoffs Gill can go around and bear hug people in front of the net on the pk. Plus he's a good locker room guy.

Doesn't sound like any change, so except 3 - 4 goals given up by the Flyers.

Yeah, i have also noticed that he seems to be a good guy to have at the locker room. He's like a hybrid between a player, a coach and a dad it seems

Maybe he will get a couple of games in the end of the season

Well hey, if the defense doesn't just flat out suck tonight, I think we have a serious chance.

But the odds of that happening? Little to none.

The Devils are probably the hardest team for the Flyers to win against when it's crunch time.

Can you guys help me (those of you that have been to the WFA)?

I'm bringing the misses to the game and its essentially her first hockey game. She used to be a part of the dance team for the Flyers, back when they had a dance team, so she's never actually watched other than on TV when forced.

She really enjoys healthy food...and I'm trying to see if there is a salad option or something along those lines for the concession stands around the arena? Appreciate any help you guys can provide...

Yep, a quick defender like Gus is what we need against teams like the Devils that have forechecks that keep us hemmed in.

Saw that they were practicing breakouts from behind their own goal line in practice, hopefully it helped.

No offense to Hal Gill, but usually when "locker room presence" is brought up as a reason for having a player it's usually because you can't imagine them bringing much else. It's why you usually hear it with fringe players, enforcers, and goons.

That's putting aside that I think the whole "locker room presence" thing is complete bull 99 percent of the time mostly because none of us actually know anything about these players personalities and it's very rare for a player to be considered a cancer.

They don't start Schneider nearly enough. Not that Im complaining, but my God, they've got a prime upper-echelon netminder splitting time with an old has been. And people say the Flyers can't let go of the past...

I can't complain they've started Brodeur every game against us this year now. We're 2-1 against them so far.

VDV is a much better defensive player than Rosehill or Rinaldo. He also kills penalties.
