Tonights game

This is a question from a Sabres fan, so I am coming from that point of view.

Do you guys view tonight's game as a benchmark game for the team. Even though the Sabres are very beat up they have generally had their way with the Flyers.

I think you guys have made the right moves and I loved the return on the Forsberg deal for you. It just seems the atmosphere in Philly, even if the results haven't totally shown it, is greatly improved.

What do you expect to see tonight? I am expecting a reinvigorated Flyers team bringing an extremely physical game tonight and I wouldn't be surprised to see a few fights and a lot of big hits and chippiness. I am really wondering if the Sabres can or will respond?

Thoughts?

they should play a good game and now get blown away. depends on goaltending. expect a lot from calder-carter-upshall line.

That seems to be the type of line that signifies "Flyer" Hockey and gives the Sabres lots of problems.

we're last in the league and probably going to finish last in the league.

there aren't any benchmark games as far as i'm concerned.

A good effort is reward enough at this point. Getting the young guys to play fundamental hockey and jell as linemates is what remains this year.

It's only a benchmark game for the Sabres: Can they get the 2 gimme points on offer?

yea you were there ghost, when you are last you are happy to score 3 goals or be ahead in a game at some point. that said though i think we bring our A game and hit hard and play hard.

Sucks for Max but i hear first round or sonner? so thats not TOO bad.

No benchmarks.

There is a rumor out of Philly that Eager and Fedoruk were thinking about paybacks from the Umberger hit last year.

I guess that, in a way, is what I would be looking for if I were a Flyers fan. I was a bit stunned, frankly, that no one took Campbell to task earlier in the year.

I think a few guys getting even would show that the chemistry is building and the team first atmosphere is coming back. That, at this point, IMO would be bigger than a win.

That's the difference between Flyers players mind-set and say...ex-VAN players mind-set...

We know when we see a clean hit...and even appreciate it.

If we see the energy and physical play that we saw on Saturday vs the Rangers, I'll be happy. I don't expect a win, but as long as they're playing hard and smart it's a positive.

Pretty sure Eager is out tonight, I wouldn't expect as much hitting as usual, unfortunately.
