Martin Gelinas

Looks like the Flames may be interested in bringing him back (the asking price is a mid-round draft pick and/or 2nd tier minor league prospect.) What are your thoughts on The Eliminator? Should we bring him back? Or should Sutter focus his attention on a second line RW instead (a la Billy Guerin/Anson Carter.)

As it stands right now our lines look as follows (when healthy):

Tanguay Conroy Iginla
Huselius Langkow Moss
Primeau Lombardi Amonte
Nilson Yelle Friesen
Ritchie McCarty

Regehr Stuart
Hamrlik Phaneuf
Giordano Warrener
Zyuzin

Kiprusoff
McLennan

I think if the price is right we should definitely bring him back (he would be a great addition to our 3rd/4th line.) More depth on defence may also not be a bad idea. Either way I don't think Sutter's done tinkering just yet.

You should be able to get him for a 4th/5th. He's an aging UFA veteran and the only way I can see his price going up that high is if there's a huge bidding war. He's not worth too much more than a 4th/5th at this point.

I would do it. Gelinas may recapture some of the magic and the guy really converts when you need him to. You can't have too many guys like that around.

It never hurts to have a lot of depth. If the price is right, I say go for it.

If all it takes is a low pick and a so-so prospect then go for it.I would welcome him back.

The article was writen by Eric Francis, and I wouldn't call him an authority on what's going on or in the best interests of of the Flames.

There are just some blasts from the past that should remain there.

Eric Francis wasn't alone. This rumor has been circulating.

Martin Gelinas: Again, there's no shortage of suitors for a gritty veteran who has delivered time and again in the playoffs. Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton are all rumored to be in the mix. Any bidding war would only help the Panthers in terms of what they can get in return.
Why Edmonton would be making inquiries, no one knows.

Flames fans want Martin Gelina back but who would the Flames give up to get him. A draft pick, prospect, a roster player like the Flames did to get Brad Stuart and Primeau.
