Garter for sure. The Shock Doctor jock with garters is a good combo piece but I just switched over to a Reebok 10k jock after picking one up in Czech and am now using a basic A&R garter with it

Go to one of those dry cleaning places and get velcro tabs (they have them) stitched onto your socks for like $10. You can get the exact length based on your height and the tabs will allow your shorts or pants to last way longer than sticking on the socks.

You wouldnt wear another layer. The compression jock/ velcro shorts would be your only layer

This is probably the best deal on a piece of hockey equipment, ever:

http://www.hockeymonkey.com/under-ar...-short-sr.html

I've tried several different brands, and the Under Armour is the best there is, the cup section is made of silk. Have had them for years and the waistband is as stretchy as it was the day I bought them. At this price, they are a steal.

Do those have the leg straps to keep the cup in place?
I find that helps to keep it from moving around, and my shock doctor base layer pants don't have the straps(bought online without seeing them), so it moves...1 of the reasons I bought a jock/garter combo.

Thanks

Shock Doctor jock with velcro straps. Works well enough for me. I obviously still use some clear tape under my knee cap.

Yes, there is a jock cup holder in the shorts with a strap that goes around each leg. It is very comfortable to play in as the straps keep the cup in place.

Switched to compression jock about a month ago. Hands down more convenient, comfortable, and efficient. Selling garter belt on eBay as vintage item.

it's not bad but a lot of us prefer the compression version better

Garter belt seems to only be used by older players... I have never once saw a teammate wearing one in my 16+ years of playing until I started mens league.
