Schultz still playing well.

I wonder why not give Cassivi the start in Montreal. I know Hanlon doesn't want to phone it in and admit they're too far out... but lets be serious here. The right thing to do is play Cassivi in Quebec.

In either case, is Matty Yeats around?

How many 5 on 5 goals did we give up tonight?
I'm pretty sure the answer is once again zero.

This is what I'm saying.

All we have to do is look at our 5 on 5 play when we send in one forechecker, sit back, wait for chances that never come and we end up losing the game but we can still say we did not play like crap...

Because not allowing 5 on 5 goals while playing the trap is the most important thing in hockey.

I just love how even Locker got into it....

6 minutes left in the game, the Caps are down and are generating zero offense (16 shots on goal at that point...that is with the 5 or 6 power plays)...Joe B said the game had come to a screeching halt...Locker said something like...

"both teams are playing passive for the Caps waiting for their opportunity to score and montreal waiting for time to run out"

So the Caps are down, generating NO OFFENSE, and STILL playing the trap with 6 minutes left??? How anyone can proclaim that they did not suck is beyond me.

8 games with the trap, 2 wins and 2 points for Ovechkin. Great...can't wait for the next 8 games.

Whatever happened to scrapping the trap when all our Dmen came back?

hmm, it seemed he played more than that. Maybe its because every time he was on the ice he actualy busted his ass and did something (forechecked hard, hit, etc...)

The Brashear - Sutherby - Zednik combo was the best forward line tonight.
Sadly it was.

I am actually quite happy to see Cassivi on the bench.

If Lapierre hadn't turtled in the first period, Sutherby would have had a Gordie Howe Hat Trick. *sigh*

I really like the way Sutherby played last night and like the combo of him and Brashear together. It looked to me that Sutherby was more than willing to drop the gloves a couple times last night and I think that is what we need from him (and the two points was good too).
