Yes we could hear your cheers and it made a big difference.
The first few chourses of boos probably surprised everybody, but the Sens fans rallied like the champs they are, and came through for the rest of the game.
Comrie heard them too and in interviews after he said that he expected the boos from the Edmonton fans but that he really appreciated all the cheers from the Sens fans.
I thought at the last game with the Leafs when the boos were so loud for Alfie, partway thorugh the game, the Sens fans cheered loudly to counter the boos, and booed Sundin to boot, and that made a difference . It probably sounded like music to Alfies ears and actually seemed to make the Leafs fans back off a little bit(and didnt sound so embarresing to the TV audience).
Irritating though it is, I guess its not possible to make fans of other teams
stop booing the Sens players.
So even though the Sens fans at SBP may really want to quietly enjoy the game, it seems that when necessary, they should take one for the team and stand up and cheer their lungs out.
The players hear that and know we are supporting them.
