Shot type definitely plays a part. My slapper is best with 75 flex senior sticks but my wrister is best with about 60 flex intermediates.

I am about 5'10" 115lbs can barely flex a 75 flex, yes you read that right. I need a good stick for ball hockey. Would intermediate be best? and what kind of curve is good for a ball hockey shooter? I usually stand in front of the goalie and play right wing.

I probably need a bit of an extension on the stick

I'm 5'8", and I cut ~2" off my INT CCM CS sticks to get them to my chin in bare feet/adams apple on skates.
Sounds like an INT 65 flex would be better for you.
I actually own an INT Warrior Covert DT5LT in a 55 flex that I use on the pond.
You may not even have to cut it, may be just right.

Finding a 55flex intermediate in sportchek is damn near impossible lol. I'll look for a 65-70 and start doing some pushups

Pushups won't help at all. You're just like the rest of us, you need to hit the gym to gain muscle mass in the upper body, which helps using stiffer sticks. At 5'10" 115 lbs, you should be okay with a 65-70 flex stick. You could even insert an extension to make the stick longer and whippier.

The 2 CCM CS were cut around 2" or so as well to get to the same length(adams apple on skates) and they come as 65 flex.
The DT5LT is much heavier than the CS sticks, and actually cost me $5 more, as the CS is an older, but better stick.
Too bad you are in Ca., the CS are on clearance at HM for 80.

Get one of those retailers to ORDER a 55 or 60 flex for you. It's easy, just decide on a model.

Easton 55s (Black/Yellow) Intermediate with 65 flex and Hall curve for Ball Hockey. Thoughts?

I think a cocktail of technique, shot selection, weight/height and strength all play a part. I also think trial and error help you decide too.

I'm 6'2" 195 and do my fair share of lifting. I've dabbled in flex between 75 and 107 and have found I get the best of all worlds with a low kick 85 flex stick. I can play with 95-100 flex but my shot selection leans more towards clappers and I can play with 75 flex but certain things come out of the arsenal. 85/low kick gives me a nice compromise. I've strayed away and come back because the little bit I lose of my clapper is worth the extra I get on my snapper.

You don't want a softer flex that you seemed to target before? Why get something that you think might be too stiff but 'anticipate' that you'll get stronger? Does that make sense to you?

They dont make my all time favourite stick anymore (55 flex PM9 curve) however it was a junior anyways so even a stick extension now would still not reach my desirable height.

The lowest flex for intermediate I could find was 65flex and the 55S stick felt light and very similar to the one I mentioned. I played around with it a bit and I'm pretty content with it now. I guess I'll have to wait til the season to find out how content I actually am with it

How old are you ? Knowing that you're a teenager, you'll probably keep growing, which will enable you to use stiffer sticks.

The Warrior DT5LT INT is available in 55 flex, but it's not a light stick.

They had another warrior intermediate with 55flex but only a Draper curve which is too deep for me

I'm 17 years old too, but I'm 6' 145 lbs. I use 85 flex sticks (mostly because 75 flex sticks in my specs are harder to find), and I can flex them quite a bit. I also have a 100 flex stick, but I can't get a lot of power on my wrist shots. It seems that all the power comes from my arms when I shoot. I can still take slapshots with a 100 flex, but again not as hard as with a 85 flex.

Don't worry, whenever we stop growing up, we'll gain a bit of weight

Yeah a 6' 145lb 17 year old boy shouldn't be using 100 flex sticks. Unless you're like jacked and that entire 145lbs is super-dense muscle (which I doubt). 85 Flex is as high as you should be going IMO.

I'm 6'2 170lb and I use a 77flex APX2. Don't take many slappers but when I do they're hard enough.

Yeah I know, it's just that I cut it down for ball hockey. It allows me to stickhandle through the whole team

All intermediate Bauer Vapor X70s are 60 flex and are available in PM9. If Bauer has it, this can be ordered and all you have to do is ask. The upcoming Nexus 4000 and 2000 have this option as well.

Like I said, there's no need to compromise when there are plenty of options out there.
