Any Military jet enthusiast here ?

This is the Jet i am currently assigned to at Eglin AFB fLA, Our crew made a little history a few weeks back by certifying the 1st British pilot on the STOVL F-35B model. We have one pilot here flying for the Marine Squadron that trains here that is from Philly, and i am hoping to get to Launch him out while wearing either a Phillies or Flyers Jersey one of these days.......He is a big fan and all for it. We have 4 days a year our Company lets us wear our sports gear out on the flight line so maybe it will work out......would make a pretty cool picture.

Sounds pretty cool. Always thought the JSF idea and plane design was cool, but always wary on the price tag of new jets.

Its got a 40k pound thrust engine in it and in the " stovl" mode its pretty darn loud, but a different type loud than the AV-8 Harrier, the Harrier is higher pitched type nerve racking loud.

Very cool. It's one of my dreams getting a ride in a high end jet like that. I did some research in the past and the only tourist jet rides I found were on Migs in Russia.

I got a ride in a F-4 phantom over in the Phillipines back in the late 70s while stationed over there, it was pretty crazy ! I remember feeling wore out after we got back and landed lol...........I know a few Airforce pilots who Flew Migs over in Nevada back when the US Airforce actually had a squadron of Migs they flew and tested years ago, many folks had no idea there was such a program back in the day.

I used to be really into military jets when I was a kid, but I haven't been paying much attention lately. That's awesome that you work with the F-35 though. They look pretty sweet, even though I'm a little wary of the program as a whole.

More interesting to me is the current boom in new 5th generation fighters, especially in China with the J-20 and the J-31. I want to see if they're legit or if they're just Chinese knockoffs.
