If we get there, and he has a strong playoff, it's very likely he'll be back. Sid says 'hi'....

Yea 66minutes in penalties 3g17a . He helps the flyers lead the league in penalty minutes .

I was pretty excited when we got Downie but he's been pretty disappointing. He doesn't play all that much either. The Flyers have been pretty healthy up front this year and if everyone's good to go there's no way he should even crack the top-9 let alone the top-6.

Unless he has a huge playoff, chalk it up as dumping Talbot's term. I didn't like it, but I understood it. It hasn't helped Downie's cause that he's been misused. Frankly, I'm surprised he wasn't moved along again at the trade deadline

am i the only one who thinks downie should be on the fourth line and have raffle on the 3rd? provides more offense and gives just as much defensive abilities as downie. Really confused why Berube isn't doing this regularly

I'd rate Raffl's defense as markedly better than Downie's. Plus he'd add some much needed speed to that line.

Downie should be scratched and literally any AHL player should replace him. Raffl is much better in every single area except for taking penalties and he deserves to be on the 3rd line. Downie would probably even be the weakest link on the 4th line with Rinaldo and Hall. Literally the only positive about him is he's a UFA after this season. Nothing else.

Raffl and Gus both should be getting more minutes, but the veterans rule the Flyers it seems.

Downie looked absolutely horrible today, weak shots and poor decisions

Injured players like injured animals act desperately.................Steve just has not been right since his injuries and it certainly shows on the ice...I hate it for the lad and i hope he can somehow get his MO-JO back.

He still has temper problems. Did anybody see Lappy trying to calm him down and Steve was blowing him off.

Yes, I caught that. I hope they do not bring him back next year. I am hoping that Hall is brought back.

He always skates like he's at the end of a shift and he can't muster up the energy to do anything. Just sluggish.

I'm not an expert lip reader but I remember thinking he said something inappropriate. Maybe someone can check for me when they get a chance.

Can Steve Downie not fight for some reason? Whenever the camera is on him in a scrum it seems like he says he can't fight. He was headbutting a guy in the chest today so i dunno if its because of a concussion.

I know injuries are a popular excuse when a player is playing like **** (like Lecavelier for example), but I'm not buying it here. The guy plays like an idiot and isn't even remotely skilled enough in any part of the game to make up for it. The fact that he's on the 3rd line and Raffl is on the 4th is just another example of how stupid Berube is.

I think Downies body is just failing him at this point. He is a pretty good play maker and puck possessor but that is about it at this point.

It seems every time he has the puck he makes a poor choice. Even his open net goal could have easily gone poorly (he was a bit lucky).

I hope they let him go in the offseason.

Downie should have been sitting for the final couple of minutes in the game yesterday for the blatant elbow he gave to Megna (I think). That was yet another brainless move particularly given the score and timing in a run of poor play. The Avalanche seemed to have been pretty good in assessing value when they traded him.

he's got to still be injured because he was good up until he missed those games from an injury a few months back
