This was a really strange review. My thought process basically came in 5 steps:

1. Why are they even reviewing this?
2. It's not even close.
3. You clearly can't see anything on any of the angels that they are showing.
4. That's definitely in!!!
5. There's no way that counts because you can't see anything.

I think it's pretty clear that it's in the net. At the same time you can't overturn something without conclusive evidence. This is why you always try and hide the puck when it goes in the net and pull it out. You never know when you might catch a break

Might want to re-check your rule book there Chief.

The puck has to 100% over the line and I have yet to see 1 piece of footage that shows the puck, the line, and the puck over it 100%.
The rulebook is dumb. The puck is in.

There's no way you mean that.

By the rule book they got the call right. His about blaming richards turnover that cost them a goal?
He starts a thread like this literally every time a call goes against us. As if complaining about it on HF will overturn it or something.

I hate when people complain constantly about the refs. Bad calls happen to every team, and this wasn't necessarily a bad call, the call was fine, but the rule is ****ing retarded.

I agree. Can this league at least invest in some five year old technology so they can stop screwing every team? Are they serious? I guarantee you some badass nets with multiple recessed cams in the pipes w/ IR sensors could be made easily. What a joke.

That has nothing to do with my post. My post was about people using some grainy video to be "See See the puck clearly in" and they get annoyed when we want a better video like we're crazy.

Anyway I watched the video and I know some will say I'm biased but the puck was pinned somewhere on the post. The problem is where on the post and what position the puck was.

As long as I can remember there being video review, the standard has always been that they have to see conclusive, direct evidence that the puck is across the line, with white space between the goal line and the puck, and are not allowed to make assumptions or interpolate the position of the puck.

The only exception I can recall seeing, is if it's in the goaltender's glove where it can't be seen by video, and his glove is entirely across the line, it can be called a goal.

Still waiting for that magic angle where one can see white between the goal line and the puck.

You can clearly see Niemi's leg moving back to and to the left when the puck comes out. Back and to the left. Back and to the left.

Back...and to the left.

That is one magic puck.

Someone better than I would photoshop a puck into his fingers and a goalie/post diagram on the papers.

By rule, it's not a goal. Many teams have been screwed by this before with pucks under pads etc.

They need to change the rule to include logical inference on pucks such as the one above, which I think they're looking at this year.

It's time to make the puck glow in the dark.

And how much logic do we need? Like 85 percent? 51 percent?
