Seriously, how stupid can one be to come up with that? I could imagine the idiot having a smirk on his face as if he came up with something witty. A jackass indeed.

anyone else reminded about Jeremy Lin and the "chink in the armor" pun that was also "accidental"? That was way worse than this.

Didn't that end up with someone losing their job? Rossi is also the gullible idiot who retweeted a fake LeBrun account thinking the Penguins had acquired Kesler. Classic example of a reporter who doesn't fact check. Guess it's a challenge to see that the fake LeBrun had 4 friggin' followers.

Neal has given Rossi a bad time in the past as well.

Wouldn't be surprised if there is more there and that they put up with him.

Agreed. A lot of people find comfort in laughing at the horrible things that have happened to them. Granted, it wasn't his experience to laugh at but there's some overreacting going on.

Well that's kind of the thing. It's not his experience to laugh at and he made a bad pun on a public forum about a 26 year old father of a one year old boy having a stroke. Never mind the fact that there really isn't anything funny about the situation, he's a professional journalist representing the Pens' media partner. I doubt the Penguins organization is finds it funny either. In situations like this there's always some overreactions and some faux outrage but that doesn't change the fact that what Rossi did was in extremely bad taste and really, really stupid.

it's amazing he still has a job after everything he's done, but then again, this IS what many of those guys do.....

Penguins should deny access by now though.

I'm not offended, but Rossi and Letang aren't exactly buddies. Rossi even went as far as saying an article he wrote upset Letang and could hinder Shero's ability to re-sign him last summer.

People could get the impression that he has an axe to grind.

He works for the Trib, which is part of Trib Total Media, which throws a lot of money at the Pens every year to be their official media partner. I would guess that's why he gets so much leniency. If anybody in the Pens organization doubts his claim that it was unintentional or if Letang or any other players complain it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was unintentional because the circumstances put the word in his mind. You have to be pretty dim to do that though.

It's Rossi, so it doesn't surprise me. Sort of reminds me about Steigy's infamous Hobey Baker quip from a few years back. This org's PR machine is a joke and has been for a long while.

Hf is so uptight. Did that really offend you or are you acting offended because you think you should.

It wasn't funny, it was in poor taste, but I'm not offended.

I think the worst part about this is Rossi thinking that was even remotely funny to begin with.

But what's funny about someone having a stroke? When my grandma was in the hospital after suffering a stroke no one was laughing about it. At least I don't think anyone was. Maybe my family has a different sense of humour than yours though.

Nobody is saying he should be imprisoned or executed, people are saying it was in poor taste and unprofessional. Which it was. I'm not sure how his free speech is being infringed upon here. He has a right to say what he wants and people have a right to think he's a clown.
