The win aside, the only good thing about tonight's game is the catchy PGT tittle.

Obviously went with Hank and Brass.... Was looking to vote for Captain Taco for the 3rd, but didn't see his name. Went with McAwesome because that name made me laugh.

The 666 (16, 26, 36) line is going to be special. They were great today.

The win aside, some linguistic nerd trivia for you... "tittle" is the official name of the dot above the lowercase i and j. This game was deserving of such a distinction.

Well, I'll take the win, but a game like that really does little to assuage any doubt or improve overall optimism. That's not the kind of game you expect to see this deep into the season, when things like "learning the system" and such can't really be used as excuses any more. A win is a win, I guess. On to the next one.

Mmm, not sure I feel that way.

Brassard is 6'1 (?) but hardly plays big and the other two are bottom 10 in the league in size. Don't think that's a long term line for success.

Good to get the win and open up a little space in the standings but what a piss poor game defensively, it was no secret coming into this game that Ottowa's defense could be walked all over and would fold like a cheap suit once the puck goes below the hashmarks but for ****s sake I dont think our defense could have been much worse. A halfway competent defensive team would have had their way with us tonight, hopefully this is a serious confidence boost and the team can get back to the way they were playing before the break, because if they play like they did tonight against any of our upcoming opponents like Cbj and Philly it wont be pretty.

But hey two points is two points, and congrats to hank

Lehner and Phillips were terrible tonight.

Nice to see some kind of finish. I'll take the 2 points.

Good thing the amount of time the Rangers need it to be a success is considered short term... and then in the offseason they can tinker

It makes perfect sense. "wat", in this case, is an way of saying "I cannot believe the inconsistancy of getting shut out and then scoring 8 goals." Edumacate yourself pls.

with Columbus 2 points behind us with 2 games in hand it's a must win in Columbus on Friday...same for Philly next Wednesday at home...they are 2 points ahead with also 2 games in hand...if the rangers can win one of the 2 games against the devils and phoenix in between Columbus Friday and Philly next Wed but make sure to beat columbus and then philly next week I think we will be in good shape

Don't tell me what to do... and no "wat" isn't even a word "What?" would be more proper....

If the defensive personnel remains largely intact this offseason, the organization may have to reassess whether man-to-man is the appropriate system for this team. The defense has been inconsistent all season and has been deteriorating since the Olympic break. As you mentioned, they should have had already adjusted to the system 70 games into the season.

usually we get 7 pages of PGT after a loss. Winning really shuts the trolls down, I guess.

Glad we won but nothing appears to be fixed.

-Nash was invisible outside the shorty that should have been stopped.
-St. Louis is still goalless and appears snakebitten
-Hank was just good enough to be better than Robin friggin Lehner
-Richards was, well ok I guess

We got lucky against a team we shouldn't have even fallen behind. We won't have this kind of luck moving foward and certainly not in the playoffs if we make it.

It also happens with those 7 pages of a PGT when its a great win... this was a meh win. They played bad in their own zone, and if Ottawa didn't have trouble in net.. we would have probably had trouble in the game.

ehh it's human nature really...people are pacified after a win and content especially with the devils and blue jackets losing....people get frustrated after a bad loss when important points are on the line especially in such a tight playoff race and then feel the need to vent...people don't need to vent when content or at least complacent

Well, I figured it out. The games we scored 7+ this year I missed. In fact going back to that 8-4 game against Buffalo last year, I only saw half of that game. I think me watching is the problem.
