Yes my plan is working.

I have put a spell on the oilers so that they would lose 20 of these last games to select Cherepanov and come back next year and clinch top spot in the west.

Aren't i a genious

Cherepanov would be eaten alive in Edmonton. This is the city that think Ales Hemsky is overrated and doesn't like his game, but Toby Petersen he plays such solid defense and does "all the little things right."

I love his game, but I can't see him being successful in Edmonton.

Wouldn't be that much. If it didn't work out, he'd be seen as a bust.

There's always a silver lining to falling out of the playoffs (god it's pathetic how we're only a point above STL), and this year it's the abundance of talent that can be had in the top 10 of the draft. Any one of Gagner, Petrecki, Kane, Couture, Alzner all seem like solid blue-chip prospects, and I agree with you JJ, I think guys like Cherepanov and Esposito wouldn't last long in this town.

I saw Esposito play in QC 10 days ago and all I can say is over rated. At least the game I saw him. Talk about playing on the periphery!! he would make Lupul look like a power forward>

Not sure what you are referring to when you say "this is the city"... because it has been widely reported on this board that a fair majority is sick of seeing Toby Petersen get any ice time whatsoever, and all we need Hemsky to do is shoot more.
Hemsky is at nearly a PPG, which is fine with me for this year

Yeah, I agree, but the fans on these boards aren't the only ones that fill the rink and trust me some people of them think Hemsky is the most brutal player ever. I think if Cherepanov would get the lazy, soft Russian label pretty fast.

regardless of who we draft, if anyone is touted an 'offensive dynamo,' mact's gonna coach the offense outta him and say: "look son, offense comes from good defense. look over in that corner. you see him? be more like toby and let the offense come to you. stop seeking it out yourself."
stupid petersen. 4 goals of which almost all of them are tap ins, at least 8 missed opportunities of which were also tap ins. useless in the offensive zone. pointless to have on the pp.
let's just blow the remaining games and go after anybody who's got some skill!!!

Just imagine what kind've year he'd be having if we had a top 1/2 and top 3/4 defenseman the whole year. Making that outlet pass for him...

Not to mention how injury plagued this team has been all year.

You'd expect karma to be with us the whole year(well some of it anyways) after what happened in the off season, nope completely opposite.
