"Current OHL Player to generate most controversy on HF Vancouver - particularly between BC and VKW"

1. Bo Horvat

Out of McEneny, Subban, and Hutton, the Canucks might get a couple Top 6 defensemen in the next few years. All three profile pretty well.

McEneny in particular was another astute free agent signing by Gillis. Hard not to be happy about his production this season.

If just one of those guys becomes an NHL regular that's a win IMO.

I love Horvat, but yeah -- he's not the kind of player that's going to win those polls. Ideally, if everything "hits" with him, he's going to be a guy that's very good at everything and elite at nothing.

That's the risk with him. If it works and he's Bergeron, you're laughing. If it doesn't and he's a 3rd liner, then Gillis looks like a fool. No point in having this debate again though...

Yup. Between those three and Corrado, the Canucks have a fairly good shot at securing two regulars, I'd think. That would be a real coup.

Hobey Baker finalists were announced and Hutton didn't make the cut.

I know about Hockeystreams.com but are there any iOS apps that stream CHL games?

Not for playoffs specifically but the OHL, QMJHL and WHL boards are quite active:

Looks like he's getting a Canucks treatment early in his career. He'll fit in nicely

Ive seen like 6 games of Hutton this season, and unfortunately none of Ghost but even the homer flyers fans talk about how his weakness is defensive ability. Hutton provides more offense, more defense, size and equal, if not better skating ability.

Reactionary post but its still sad.

The Canucks need to pick up Folin. Edmonton is reportedly pushing hard for him. Imagine if it came down to the Canucks and Edmonton again? Hopefully he signs with either Ottawa or the Canucks, the teams that were actually interested in him and pushing for him as a freshman.

Pretty sure if Schultz was slated to sign his contract this year instead, he'd choose the Canucks. Edmonton is a mess right now.

Mike Williamson & Penn State moves into the Semi-finals of the Big Ten Hockey Tournament, after beating Michigan 2-1 in OT.

Williamson had 3 shots on net and an even +/- rating.

They will play Wisconsin (Labate) tomorrow and the winner will get a seat in the championship game (Saturday).

I don't think we'll get him, but they can at least show him if he does his part there are spots available.

Recent examples:

Tanev
Lack
Lain
Archibald

hmm didn't know but apparently Van was close to signing him last year too.

Yeah, they had a deal in place and he declined to play a year in College. Hopefully he respects the team that was close to a contract with him and really wants him, but you can't fault the kid. It's a big life decision especially when you're choosing from likely 30 NHL teams.

Well his development is pretty screwed now so the chance of his fat contract is decreasing. But since it's the Oilers so its completely realistic that MacT calls a conference and claims "we've seen enough! here is 6M".
