I will be furious about this trade forever... You guys got a good player, eventually he may very well end up being your first line center. He is an incredibly smart player, sees the ice real well and just has a sense of whats going on around him at all times.

And lets not forget, hes just now starting to get warmed up to the NA game. He is only going to get much much better.

Don't worry about it. After a few years of Trotz's system, he'll be useless and you'll come out ahead.

Nice! It's due to Goose's injury. Hopefully he gets more than 5 mins stuck on the 4th line.

With the season finished, this is the sort of thing that gives us a reason to watch. Excited to see how close he is.

I'm mixed about this. He likely won't see more than 7 minutes of playing time and will be stuck with Clune and Eaves. Kind of pointless for the call up.

I hope he actually gets to play more than 5-8 minutes a game.

Trotz will get mad at him for not playing defensively enough and bench him.

Since the word is that he is very good defensively as well, we can only hope Trotz doesn't plug him on that 4th line. Move Spaling back down there.

I hope not. No one should have to play with Eaves, he is horrible. One of the worst in Preds history.

Is Brett Lebda signed with anyone? If not, sign him, make him a forward and play Lebda and Eaves as Jarnkrok's wings.

Criminy, with all these cynical comments, you'd think we'd just put Jarnkrok on waivers and watched him get claimed back by Detroit or something.

I just hope he gets a real shot. Would hate to see him thrown on the 4th line and given little chance to show what he can do.

Bad move. Should keep him as far away as possible from Trotz and the current roster.
I want to see him play as much as anyone but i don't want to see this kid lose confidence after playing with the burning trash barrel.
Keep him with FF in the AHL and call up Watson.

I'd put the over-under at 6 minutes, personally.

...

I think the reason for his call-up is not just the Gaustad injury.

They could have called up Forsberg or someone else.

I think part of the reason for this call-up is to reassure Jarnkrok that Nashville is serious about giving him a chance to play in the NHL.

You all know about the rumours that he was thinking of going to Europe this off-season. I believe there is some truth to that. In Detroit, a player can sit in the AHL for 3-4 years before they ever make the NHL full-time. Some prospects are not ok with that approach...and I think Jarnkrok has a point here. He already has a ton of experience at a high level of play in the SEL. It makes no sense for him to have to stay in the AHL for 3-4 years at this point. His production in this his rookie AHL season is proof that he is close to being NHL ready.

So he gets a cup of coffee with the Preds now and that should help him feel better about staying in North America. What should also give him some comfort is that Nashville is not exactly stacked at Center. With Legwand gone, there are jobs to be won at the Center position. In Detroit he would have had to deal with Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Weiss, Sheahan, etc.

So I think you guys made an excellent trade here. Adding Forsberg and Jarnkrok by trade gives you the offensive minded forwards you really are lacking. IF they are allowed to play their game under Tortz, they will succeed. Both are decent defensively so that should not be an issue.

I agree that the callup is to reassure Jarnkrok that we are going to give him a shot in the NHL. He isn't playing more then 9 games so I don't get this whole don't put him in loser Nashville and kill his confidence stuff. He's not 18. He's 22 and played in the SEL for several seasons and AHL this year. The season is done and the preds want to see how close to NHL ready the kid is and the Gaustad injury gave them the opportunity. It will determine what we do in the offseason.

Yeah we will see what he does playing with Clune, Eaves, and Nystrom with Trotz eating at his arse for things like "emotion", "grit", "attention to details" etc...

At practice he was centering Smith and Bourque according to Cooper. We shall see.

I think 2nd. It's the line that Wilson's been on since Legwand was traded.
