I think Bourque will play against Toronto, I take Bournival over Bourque, White and Weise and i put him either with Plekanec and Gionta on a 2-way line or on the 4th line with Eller and Weise.

I highly doubt Bourque plays against TO, and I'd be pissed if he did.
Max-DD-Vanek
Briere-Pleks-Gally
Chuck-Eller-Gio
Weise-White-Moen

If Bournival is ready, I'd consider putting him in for Briere or Eller, but even that is a stretch.

Nice. So Eller on the wing, or Eller out maybe?

Finally.

Hopefully it goes smooth. I expect mistakes, but that's how he'll learn and ultimately, develop. Hopefully Therrien sees this too.

Agreed. But repeat this mantra: Expect mistakes. Expect Galchenyuk to lose 90% of faceoffs. Also, expect more bonehead mistakes from Tinordi. It'll suck having to watch us sacrifice goals and games thanks to rookie screwups, but that's the price we pay to have the young guys step up big-time down the road (hopefully not far down the road!).

yes, finally. I expect he might need a game or two to get his center game back.
we must remember, the center position is his best position and the reason he was drafted. It's about time.

Bourque was one of our best forwards with Pleks vs Ottawa at last season's playoffs...I'd give him his shot whenever there's an opening.

Briere...Bourque...don't forget that these guys show up in playoffs.
(it might not be too smart to sit them during the most important part of the season).

I really hope Prust can come back for playoffs and if not we have lots of depth for our 3rd and 4th lines:

Moen
Bourque (he can get HOT again for playoffs and play on 1st or 2nd or 3rd line)
White
Weise
Bournival

Briere-Pleks-Gionta
Pacioretty-DD-Vanek
Galchenyuk-Eller-Gallagher
Moen-White-Weise
Bourque
Bournival

Serious??? Take White out and break up a great 4th-line? Put Bourque in and demote Eller to 4th with a new set of wingers?? Makes no sense.

Yeah, I know... add it to the "Makes no sense" list.

Isn't it funny how every year, we lose some key players going into the playoffs (or close to)
Gorges said he plans on coming back to play a few games BEFORE playoffs (good stuff). I've bashed Gorges a lot this season (very average play, lots of angry/repetitive interviews...and I hate that he doesn't give any credit at all to Subban...ever), but we need him for our #3-4 spots for playoffs...he has got to be a warrior for us in playoffs or else...I'll go back to bashing him!! (just kidding...sort of!). And I trust Weaver more than Emelin defensively...

Prust...I really hope he can come back close to 100% during 1st playoffs...but if he's only at 50% you have to sit and let someone else play (team first)...someone who is at 100% or close (White, Weise, Moen, Bourque, etc).

If you're waiting for Bourque to explode in the playoffs, you're being little trigger-happy with the optimism, dude. It'd be great if you're right though -- Bourque becomes our secret weapon in the playoffs thanks to him the best-rested player in the league.

I like Bournival, but he's less-qualified than everyone, except maybe Bourque.

Galchenyuk has looked the most comfortable with the puck on his stick of just about anyone over the past while, so it's about time he has been given the green light for transition back to centre, imo. Hope he isn't hit with a knee jerk reaction if he does get caught once or twice maybe trying to do too much.

He's actually on third with Bourque and Gionta. Lines at practice:

Pacioretty - Desharnais - Vanek
Briere - Plekanec - Gallagher
Bourque - Galchenyuk - Gionta
Moen - Eller - Weise

Hard to imagine Prust not opting for the shoulder surgery this summer. Will probably miss some time at the start of next season I'd imagine.

Haha!!! Well...if we could see (re-watch) every game vs Ottawa in last season's playoffs...Bourque was a true playoff warrior for us and I have to hope he can bring it again. I actually don't mind a player who is semi-sleepy during the regular season, IF...only IF he brings his A game in playoffs when it really counts...and then all is forgiven!!

Playoffs is what it's all about!!! (Bourque and Briere might surprise a lot of us....wasn't that long ago when Briere was a huge playoff sniper for Philly...he might have a bit of that magic left...we cannot ignore/deny that...).

Anyways...I love our forward depth!!! (Bourque, Moen, White, Weise, Bournival).

And our d-depth is not bad...even though I wish we had another #4-5 dman:
<Gorges (should come back before playoffs...#3-4 position)
<Weaver (#4-5 position)
<Bouillon (#5-6-7)
<Tinordi (#6-7)
<Murray (#6-7)

I like the 4th line... They should be able to work the puck down low and keep it there.

Poor galchenyuk is going to have his work cut out for him. Its hard enough as a 20 year old at center, then you put him a struggling bourque, and an offensively limited, aging gionta.

What are the projected D pairings?

Playing Bourque is a brilliant move. There's a season of goals backed up in his system like water in a twisted garden hose. But the moment the playoffs start, he'll untwist and 20 goals will spurt out the other end.

Or I can do a Bourque/Dark Matter metaphor, with Bourque's missing goals existing somewhere to balance out the universal mass.

Or the guy can look up while the puck's on his stick and actually see what's going on.
