No.

If anything, he's improved my expectations of how good a player he'll be, assuming he avoids major injury.

Is like to see him used more opportunistically now, but in the minutes he gets, he looks great for a 20yr old

A junior age player with over 100 games and over 50 points under his belt in the NHL?
When is the last time we've seen that in Mtl?
As he matures physically and becomes stronger, more confident and more abrasive, he might become a world class forward by the time he's 23. We'll see.
And although I'm not an MT fan, I'm OK with that way he's managed Chucky's ice time for the most part.
You just don't throw a junior age player to the wolves if his name is not Sid.
Let's give the guy some time please, some things just can't be forced.

It's easy to say "no" in hindsight, it'd be more interesting to check a predictions thread from two years ago or even one year ago.

Yes

But i 100% blame directly Therrien for that.

I get the sheltering, not sending him to the wolves, taking our time ect....
But it's not about that at all.

Last year, game #2, started at center playing with Prust and Gallagher for 13 games.
8 points in 13 games with a +7, ALL 5-ON-5 POINTS
Playing an average of 12 minutes a game.

Why did we stopped that?
The Habs got a record of 9-3-1 during that period!
Galchenyuk wasn't responsible enough defensively, right?......but he was a +7.
Obviously, Galchenyuk's defense was costing us games....

Therrien swith it off.

This year, the EGG line....very confident line.
They'e played together for 16 games an Galchenyuk put up 14 points in those games
He showed a very good chemistry with Gallagher.
He put up 7 points in his first 4 games this year.

But Therrien kept switching his linesmates.
Why??? For the sake of his progression, why Therrien didn't let him in a position where he was comfortable, with linesmates he showed chemisty with?

Good with EGG line, stopped and buried
Good at center with Prust and Gallagher, stopped and buried
Good with Gallagher, somehow, he always end up on another line.

That's why i think Therrien has totally mishandled him.
He seems to enjoy breaking what's working for him while the team is winning.

It's not about 1st line, 3rd line , center, ice-time or linesmates....
Just stop breaking everything when he's working well and getting confident.

I wasn't expecting much give our coach, and the fact the changed the way the teams plays from aggressive on the forecheck to passive and let the other team do what they want in our own zone.
