LOL... but I could see Smyth-Stoll-Hemsky, Torres-Gomez-Lupul, Shremp-Pouliot-Pisani, Moreau-REasoner-Stortini.....oops scratch shremp, gotta put TP in the lineup.. I like Horcoff also, but I would consider moving him if it meant one of the following:

Gomez or Briere type signed in off season or a Jokinen conming our way.

Horcoff, Lupul, Winchester - Horton, Jokinen

here's a better idea, kidnap K Lowe, jump into my time machine, go back about 9 months, get Lowe trade Pronger to FLA for Luongo straight up....with Luongo you don't need a blue line!!

2-1-3 tonight certainly won't hurt his value around the league!!! Horc continues to be a great 2nd 1/2 player. remember this folks for when he starts slowly next season, he is at his best the longer the season goes.

I think it would be a good time to trade Horcoff. He's putting up very impressive numbers this year so he has a very high market value. Also, for whatever reason, he doesn't seem to be a "untouchable" Oiler like Stoll or Smyth.

He's either a great 2nd half player or he has a heck of a sense of timing. Just when the heat was really on him last year was when he busted out.

Trade him up... Horcoff has reached his peak in the NHL. His value will only go down from here.

Similar note - Hemsky's 9 goals is embarassing.

Really? How do his 39 assists sit with you. He's a passer. And a young one at that. We have him tied up for 5 more years, he has plenty of time to grow. Don't worry about his goals. Worry about the number of chances he creates. That is what we pay him to do. And he's been doing it well.

Plus he was hurt for 10 games.

Methinks you're a troll. The irony is that you'll probably be more widely ignored if you have nothing intelligent to contribute.

I wish that stats guys like yourself would look at Horc's career numbers first half and second half. It'd be like night and day. Am I the only one that remembers when he was our leading scorer in the play-offs that one season against Dallas??? Last year he played his best in the play-offs as well, same with this year, his stats have skyrocketed in the past 20-30 games. This is Horc's career pattern.

I for one am not saying the guy isn't good! Bret Hart once said "I'm not so much anti American, just that I'm very very pro CANADIAN!" Well I'm not anti Horcoff, I'm just very very pro Stoll(healthy Stoll), very very pro huge return on Horcoff, very very pro upgrading the blueline! But man, he was damn good tonight, nice setup on the Smyth goal(not like Smyth didn't give him a hand though too), nice job staying with the play on his first goal, and a nice job driving the net on his second goal. He does all the simple things well and it drives you nuts when a more skilled player can't get his head right to do those same things!

I know he had a great first-20 games last year, and sort of got into a funk in the middle of the season.

The year before the lockout, he had that hip problem and it hurt him for the first half of the season, then he came back and was paired with Smyth and Pisani on a very effective line (which is when I first realized Horc had far better offensive abilities than I gave him credit for).

Ahhh, it's just because he started off so hot last year. Your not alone in remembering that Dallas series, he was great. That's when he really seperated himself from the guys like Chimera. It was his comming out party exactly, but he was a lot better then he had been from that point on.

I'd trade Horc only if it was an upgrade.. I don't think he's a #1 center though.

..and yes, he's done amazing the last 25 games.

Especially leading a rush and that first pass inside the attacking zone. He's a better player when he's in motion.

This year he had the finger injury, and I hate to call you on this as we are both Horc fans, but once Smyth got hurt early last year Horc's production dipped mightilly after a couple of big nights including a 2 goal performance on opening night if I remember correctly. Smyth was hurt 10 games in or so??? He really heated up down the stretch as well last year, just that the play-offs was the best hockey of his life to date.

Actually, we are both wrong... he had 23 points his first 20 games last year, and his last 20 games he only had 13 points.

This of course isn't factoring in type of ice-time (i.e. powerplay), but just straight up point production.

Yeah, my whole idea is to "troll" when I'm the person who started a thread about supporting the Oilers for good or ill - and it was deleted.

Or I'm the one that trash talked Ryan Smyth for years, before saying the Oilers should lock him up regardless of what it costs.

Yeah, I'm just here to piss everyone off... I'm just saying what I think. Love it or not. I suppose I'd be the most popular person around here if I fought to keep the entire 98/99 team around when the internet started?

For me this is a hilarious thread cayuse just earlier tonight i said that Horcoff would easily be worth his salary to half the teams in the league. i was saying that Horcoff might not be the best PPG first line cntre in the league, but he might be the best defensive first line centre out there. pair him with a couple high scoring wingers and he is the balance you need on a first line in the nhl. Horcoff shouldnt go anywhere, i think he is a huge part of our future
