Has he been that bad? He was a pretty decent 4th liner with us, was just hurt often.

It's not that he's been that bad, but more scratching him allows potential call ups to play.

Exactly. With this season quickly fizzling we can't afford to use spots on guys who are redundant in our system. I'd prefer to get a look at some new guys. Nothing against Eaves game.

wasn't Eaves in GR when this trade happened? I just assumed he was a salary/contract dump we had to take as part of the deal… I assumed he would be sent to Milwaukee in the first place.. since he didn't Im guessing he's on a one way deal so the pred must have figured if he was going to get paid might as well have him here since the roster limit is gone… but really no need to have him play unless we are simply short of bodies

His D is even better than his O.
He is OCD about being defensively responsible and not making mistakes.

Hornqvist went back home.

Would be nice in Jarnkrok and Forsberg could play together on a line like in Milwaukee.

He was in Detroit when he was traded. Detroit waived him but nobody picked him up and sent to GR but they called him back up. Eaves is a good 4th PK guy if he could stay healthy which he can't as he's hurt again. He was a darn good player before his injuries as he scored 20 goals at one time but he'll never do that again.

Forsberg couldn't get to morning skate in time but will be interested to see if they put him with Jarnkrok at some point. Him and Sissons together isn't bad if Clune wasn't their LW.

Let's see what Trotz does with the lines. I just hope that for once, we give the kid a chance to succeed. See putting him with offensive forwards NOT grinders.

Stalberg had some decent numbers in Chicago.

What people seem to be forgetting a lot or just selective memory is that before Forsberg was playing on 4th line with Clune...etc., he was on the second line with Leggy and didn't do anything. Since he wasn't producing on 2nd line they then put him on a line with the grinders.

He produced quite a bit on the powerplay. Giving a 19 yo 5 games with a mediocre effort center in Legwand then demoting him to play limited time with Clune is not giving a guy a chance.

Last time i checked it took a rookie more than a game to start producing on the 2nd line. What the hell is putting him on the 4th line with limited minutes and grinders going to accomplish?

Then why haven't posters on this board not been upset when Watson was only allowed to play 4th line and when Sissons has been stuck playing only 4th line. People only get upset about Forsberg having to play some 4th line time.

Good question then why have Watson last year on 4th line and Sissons this year?

Not enough to keep him from being scratched during the playoffs and letting him walk in free agency.

If Trotz doesn't bench Iron Hook soon, Preds will end up in the post season!

So we can now say that Hook is a point per game center. That is #1 C numbers right?

2 GP - 2 Points

Indeed! Pro-rated 80 point per season as a rookie! Preds really fleeced those Red wings!

No goals, clearly a bust.

Trade to Ottawa for Phillips.

I think this sample (although limited) shows the promise of the Iron Hook. Gaustad can teach the guy to be good in the dot, if that is is primary weakness. He helped everybody else on this team. To echo others, he did not look out of place, was not beat badly, recovered well when he was out of place, and made some good plays. For someone entirely new to the Preds system (although I don't think it is hugely different than the Wings system, just populated with far less talent) he did well. I am encouraged. And I agree with those who say Forsberg could use another year with the Ads. I think he is not quite ready yet, and do not want to ruin him.
