So cause we are playing good, you just say **** the points and go Emery vs Quick ? That's is moronic.

Should not have given up 38 SOGs. Horrible first 2 periods lost us this game. Emery really wasnt that bad tonight, yeah the second goal kinda sucked but cant really blame him for the 3rd goal. Play better in New York and this lost would be pretty much meaningless

Mason should play every game until they are in the playoffs.

I understand the "burnout" complaint, but the main concern is making the playoffs. Mason gives them a better chance

Not really. It'll suck, but it won't change the fact they still have two games in hand. Win and they could pretty much seal up the two spot.

This. Playoffs are by no means a lock.

Ah, my mistake. Either way, you're not going to play Mason for 18 of the final 20 games. Not unless you want him spent by April 16th.

Flyers deserved the loss honestly. They decided to play a total of 30 minutes (final 20, some good play to start the 2nd and some good pps makes ~30min) and expect to win, that's not how it works. If Mason starts I think they come away with a win or get a point at least. I completely understand the starting of Emery though, he's just too damn slow. He's like the anti-Quick.

This team has a bad case of the pings right now.

1 pt up on a smoking hot team doesn't seal anything.

It certainly makes it a tall task. The Flyers are smoking hot too if you haven't been paying attention.

Look at that 1st goal they just replayed, he's so incredibly slow. That 2nd one is worse than anything Bryz or Leighton have ever done, he literally move out from in front of the net for no reason and then deflects it out in front... seriously. Plop a dead body in front of the net and there's no goal there.

And Mason won't stop a 2 on 1 like the one Kimmo and Coburn gifted to LA just when we had gotten the game tied and had the momentum.

I would like to see us play one game with these pairings

Timonen-Coburn
MacDonald-Streit
Gus-Schenn

just want to see what happens. We would lose Grossmann's hitting but also his terrible skating and inability to handle/pass the puck

Second was a joke and the first 99 of 100 goalies easily get over to make the save. No points is all on Emery. He is the worst back up and he proved it. No way we were getting 3 past Quick.

I think it is a tie between that, the game winning goal in game six against Leighton and the one Bryz shot into Clarksons shin pad and into the net

They should just hand the Rangers the Cup now, who would have known they would have breezed some juggernauts like Ottawa, Columbus, New Jersey, & Phoenix. That's a really who's who of elitist amongst the NHL.

Pretty much. And people are ripping the goalie when the Flyers should have had 3 goals tonight. Vinny missed a wide open net from 2 feet out. Inexcusable for a forward to not bury that.

We all play the same teams. We get no extra points for beating top teams. As good as we are , we are still below the Rangers. Mason starts tonight, we are still ahead of them.

Yea you are going to play him more than 4 games in a row though. There's no reason for him to not play this game. Like I posted in the beginning of the gtd him starting changed my prediction from a win to a lose. Picked 4-2 in the prediction thread

Exactly. All he has to do is make the saves any legit NHL goalie does, nothing heroic or highlight worthy, but he can't even handle that. Give us an average backup and the game would have been 2-1 (ignoring the fact that Vinny choked hard) at the very least get one point if the 1st goal still goes in (which it probably wouldn't).

Flyers haven't played very well since the Chi game. I don't consider dominating a single period a game and being mediocre or bad the rest of the game very well. Rangers game most certainly isn't in the bag. With that said I think this loss give the Flyers a kick in the ass causing them to come out with a solid performance and a subsequent win in NY.
