Bouillon is just not what he was last year, it is time for him to go...or be benched...

I was thinking he may get a benching as well, only problem is we have equally as bad replacements for him. no upgrade at all... i'd still like to see Cote get a shot, but we have way too many bodies to call up anyone.

can't disagree with anything here.

he's a fine #6/#7 but overpaid and overrated. We have to live with some of that because the team has no NHL-ready defensive depth. He wasn't this bad last year either. I recognize his ability to hit, but when were his last really physical games even?

At least Carbo benched him to close out the 3rd period.

Should make Rivet's re-integration into the line-up easy.

I also noticed Carbo broke up the Dandy/Boullion paring as well.
After the giveaway.

Anyone else think it would be worth trying Bouillon with someone else on the right side?

Of course, as I think through my own idea... I don't like the idea of putting him with Rivet, who has his own issues with turnovers. And I'd hesitate to do that to Komi, who isn't at the point where I'd feel he can easily play well himself and worry about covering up for someone else's mistakes night in and night out. That would leave Niinimaa (who usually plays the left side anyway), and I don't think I need to say anything further about that pairing. Yeah, my idea sucks. Never mind

Yeah I agree, Cube isn't playing as good as he has in the last couple of years. He doesn't hit anymore and doesn't play that aggressive game anymore that made him a fan favorite. Something has to give.

Not only that but the guy has a peewee slap shot. I could stop it. He cant shoot at all. He either slaps a softie, wrists a softie or his softie gets blocked by some shins.

he's been pretty bad this year(today was horrible); he's playing injured. Still I don't think our faith depends on a sixth defenceman, I don't understand the logic of people who think that without him in the lineup we're automatically in the playoffs, there are a lot of other players we have to rely on before him...

....right. I kinda specified that he is merely a piece of the puzzle that will keep us from being a winner. And 6th d-man or not, he logs a significant amount of minutes; enough to repeatedly cough up the puck and lose battles because of sheer stupidity. 51 is not THE problem, but he is definitely one of them, and right up there.

Agreed. He wouldn't be in the NHL if his name was Bouillov.
