NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

It was a roller coaster. It was definitely a special one. The way it started with the ceremony was just a memory for life.
To see my parents walking out there, my family, it was a very special moment in my career. The 1st period, it was a tough test for us in this game a couple of times. But we showed so much character.
We sat here a week ago talking about playing really well but not finding ways to win. For the past 7 days, we have done that. That’s all that matters right now and it’s huge for us.
- Henrik Lundqvist

I know Girardi has a heavy shot and he's very accurate with it. He had a lane, so I just tried to stay in front and hope it didn't fly off the goalie.
It just hit my stick and was able to go in.
- Ryan McDonagh

I shouldn’t have played Stepan and Marty. I should have taken that out of their hands. I saw them at 4 o’clock. They didn’t look good.
They both said they wanted to play but, at the end of the day, I’ve got to take that out of their hands because they had no energy and, obviously, it showed.
- Alain Vigneault

Why is Zucc on the left and Miller on the right? Shouldn't it be reversed?

Think Zucc plays both whereas Miller's only played RW and C for us.

So excited to see Nash and St.Louis together! Finally!!!

Lines are grabbed from Gross' blog. Same lineup is listed on NHL.com too.

St. Louis to score 17 goals tonight to make up for the past games and then will never score again.

I just thought Miller could play either side and Zucc was more of a RW, but he's played on the left before too.

Carcillo has been very solid for us. Disciplined, simple, effective game. But he has the flu tonight.

Excited for Miller. Hopefully he plays his way into the lineup for good from this point on, and we can have both him and Kreider in for the playoffs.

Refs tonight are van Massenhoven and O'Halloran - two very senior guys.

This could shape up to be quite entertaining. Hope it isn't a letdown after all this buildup hype.

MSL needs to get the monkey off his back in a bad way. Tonight's the perfect game to score a big goal.

I wonder if that's by design due to the importance of this game.

How exactly?

If we try to play their game the only blood will be ours. NBC overhyping this game can't change our roster I just hope we come out injury free.

Your boy is gonna prob get run tonight and if so I hope he uses his goalie stick like a tomahawk.

Could be a fluke of scheduling, but I would like to see the league assign senior officials with lots of playoff experience to games like this because of the ramifications in the standings and the fact that this is the kind of game that could get out of hand quickly with younger officials.

I think Zuccarello has a big game, hopefully Stepan and St Louis are feeling better also.
