Lander in Edmonton.
Klefbom in Edmonton.
Pitlick in Edmonton.
Horak injured.
Arcobello injured.

They still managed to force overtime against the conference leading Stars. Since all 3 (!) teams just ahead of them in the standings lost they are now 2 points shy of a playoff position.

Next game agaist the Stars tonight. Arcobello out, Horak maybe back in.

I watched the game last night, Barons did a good job of keeping it close, but the skill difference became more apparent as the game wore on it seemed like Bachman pretty much held them in it in the 3rd. Having those key guys missing makes a huge difference to how the team looks down there.

I think Nelson made a good adjustment from the lack of skill down there, most of the offense came from the D and the forwards just tried to create screens or get in on rebounds.

Thanks for the info. I guess that means that it will be tough tonight... Any news on Horak?

Barons are seeking...input...on ticket pricing and seating for next season. Nice rollback on prices and seating arrangements that look pretty cool. Maybe we'll even have a sellout next year! Or not.

In any case, my seats are $10!

Nelson is doing a great game holding the fort with all the roster up turn. I really hope they make the playoffs Lander, Pitlick, Arcobello, Kelfbom, Mariancin etc could use the experience.

I saw that on twitter yesterday, I hope he does well, he could be a very pleasant late round surprise.

Jackson Houck's junior season is now over. Could be joining OKC on an ATO for the remainder of the season.

They actually need him and he may get playing time.

What I like about Nelson is the way he adapts to injuries and call ups.
Instead of going with the same game plan missing key players, he changes it up to work for the team. The fact he knew his forwards weren't going to create the offense but his d could shows how malleable of a coach he can be.

I don't want him coaching the Oilers cause I'm scared of a third rookie coach but I'm sure he will make a phenomenal NHL coach somewhere

I would sure hope so. Is there a limit of ATO's per team in the AHL? We could see all of Betker, Khaira, Moroz, Nurse, Houck, Chase and Roy on ATO's in theory depending on when their season and the Barons season ends.

6'0 181lbs LW Joshua Winquist has signed an ATO with the Barons. He led Everett Silvertips in scoring with 47-46-93 in 67 games. Second best player had 59 points in 72 games.

He nearly doubled his production from last year. It certainly doesn't hurt to bring him in.

That's good news. We're going to get some needed offense coming in for this push.

Love it.

Winquist is damn skilled and feisty.

Should note he and Khaira played the last 2-3 months on the top line together in Everett.

Anyone closer to the situation have any idea on the line combinations, with the new acquisitions.

I heard on the radio that the Barons will be playing Khaira on the second line, at centre. Good News.

Here is a lineup they used on the weekend:

Fyten-Stretch-A. Mille
Eager-Acton-Pinizzotto
Combs-Lavoie-Ford
Curtis Hamilton-Ewanyk-G. Miller

Gernat-Fedun
Davidson-Hunt
Leach-Musil

Richard Bachman

Scratches:
Tuohimma, Arcobello, Horak, Ryan Hamilton, Kessy, MacIntyre, Leach

Arcobello is injured, Horak may be back soonish, Kessy was injured last Tuesday, R. Hamilton is apparently always injured.

Bill Scott (GM of OKC) said that Hamilton is out for the season.

I'm guessing that will be the end of Hamilton's time with us, it's hard to justify signing him again based on the numbers he's put up.

#OKCBarons numbers: Khaira - 25; Chase - 36; Winquist - 4; Holmberg - 32. #Oilers

Chase has taken it upon himself to anoint himself a centerman.
