quick helmet question

Yo guys, I have a question regarding my reebok helmet combo. I want to label all my equipment so they don't get messed up, just using a little purple piece of adhesive plastic with my name stamped on it. However, the helmet says no decals or adhesives should be placed on it- what should I do? Does it compromise the safety of the helmet?

The adhesive tape will actually weaken the overall structure of the plastic shell. However, the big thing is that it really distributes the weight unevenly. Thus that side of the helmet weighs noticeably more. Which in turn causes your head to tip to that side. Also, purple? Really?

No. You will be fine. Just don't cover up any cert. stickers. Guys put numbers, logos, decals on their helmets all the time.

Yeah that's just to cover their ass in case something does happen. It DOES technically void warranty so I would advise against it on the extremely rare chance that something does happen.

Perhaps you could place the sticker on the side part of the cage.

Hasn't it been the way since hockey tape has been invented to throw a strip of hockey tape with your name on your helmet?

I don't because I play with the same group of guys and I have the only S19 helmet and the only one wearing a Tron visor as well, so I know which is mine. Also for my stick I simply tape it a specific way and even put my kids' initials on the tape near the handle.

Wait, doesn't this violate warranty of the facemask?

Not sure to be honest. Either way it shouldn't be a huge issue, but if you can avoid it, that would be the absolute best.

I have one too(no lie). You better put your name on yours(kidding).

Seriously, I've never gone home with someone else's equipment. I understand how it could happen. Why not just go buy a paint pen for a couple bucks, and just put a mark on the inside plastic of the helmet?

I usually have my bucket on my head so no worries for me in that department , but more seriously you could probably just write your initials on the padding on the inside with a permanent marker.
