The Church looked better than Strait tonight (in relative terms). He also has better wheels.

If his game keeps picking up this is a win for Garf.

Excellent game by him tonight. Many times with someone breaking into the zone, he would lay the body to knock the man off the puck and then get the puck. He looked like he belonged out there tonight.

This may sound a little strange, it's almost like no one notices than Strait is on the injured list.

LOL! That's exactly why I added the "in relative terms" part because I expected some people to be like "Hey idiot, he didn't play" or "Hey I never noticed him!"

For a kid straight outta college, I'm impressed. Despite some shortcomings, he's shown good battle level and desire. An improvement over a guy like Ty Wishart.

Strait will have his work cut out for him this summer to make sure he's ready come training camp. It's really tough to get into game shape when you're injured so much. I really don't think he was 100% healthy all season. Vis really hasn't looked as sharp either after coming back from his concussion. But I still think Czuczman will start out in BP and Strait will be given a little time to show he belongs. If not they could try and trade him or just waive him. Although I'd still rather him than Carkner as the #7.

The good news is all the D will have tough competition in camp with Griff, Pulock and Pelech finished with their junior careers. You might be right about Strait being nicked up, he just couldn't really get going.
