Eh, McGinn hasn't looked great in this most recent stint with the team. Other times when he's been up with the big club, he's been impressive in his first couple of games. Mind you, he usually played with higher scoring lines.

Hall has more value in the lineup as a key faceoff guy and PKer. I'd still keep him in over McGinn for those reasons.

I thought Voracek had a hell of a game, and I couldn't believe people were ripping on him at the end of the third. I think some people just can't handle losing without having something or someone to blame. Flyers overall put up one hell of a fight against the B's, controlling the game for a majority of it.
I agree completely. I thought Jake was the most dangerous player on the ice - he created scoring chances and won a ton of board battles.

In regards to the shootout attempt, when Rask attempted the poke-checked I actually said "5 hole is open". Like you said, a poke-check generally exposes the 5 hole. I thought it was good shot selection, Rask just made a good save. If anyone deserves criticism for the shootout, it's Read and Raffl

I like Hall, but with vinny doing the faceoff you aren't losing much. Plus it would be nice to give vinny a bit of talent to play with. WE would miss his pking but G could fill in.

I hate the damn shootout.

I thought we looked pretty good today, other than the PP. Stings to lose this one.

I'll admit, I was one of those ragging on him, as he did have a couple of shifts where he made some head scratching plays going into the offensive zone and was neutralized fairly well by the Bruins defensive scheme.

But he did make a couple of good plays too, two of which led to goals. I guess I was a bit harsh, but I just long for Jake to become that consistent secondary offensive threat that G needs. Plus I hate his stupid high risk cross ice passes through three defenders.

Against the best in the league, couldn't ask for much more than that. Overall they played a very good game, some let down in the second and a terrible 5 on 3 but couldn't ask for much better effort overall. Glad to see we can hang with these guys. Give credit where it's due, Boston is a ****ing machine and we went toe to toe with them today. Nice game.

Not really. This year:

Hall - 59.9% - 471 faceoffs taken
Vinny - 45.4% - 388 faceoffs taken

And you got to do what you can to keep G fresh in the playoffs. There will be times where they need him to play for the full power play time. Hall is fine on the PK. No need to burn out G.

Read has lost his shootout mojo this season. He's only scored once in six attempts.

Before this season he had gone 5/9.

I asked for a point and a good showing to be happy and yet I'm sad.

He seemed to always go five hole but that stopped working.

I was surprised Couturier wasn't put out there. I recall him scoring with an absolute laser off the top bar and in earlier this season in the shootout.

After losing to NY and LA, we needed at least 3 points from Toronto and Boston. Got em, and now even with NY. It's going to be an awesome last couple weeks of the season.

Rangers play tonight so they could pull ahead again but the Flyers will have two in hand after today.

The Flyers fate is very much in their own hands but they can't let up. They have a tough schedule remaining.

Go to the Rinaldo/Iginla thread and see for yourself. Some people jump at any chance they can to talk **** about the Flyers even when it's not related to the topic.
