lol well looks like if he is not claimed (which I do not think he will be) he will more than likely sent to Hartford. He put up really good numbers in the AHL in his career and should give Hartford some veteran leadership for their playoff run.
Yeah, Krog is and has always been a true career AHL'er. He's just not NHL material.
I am absolutely praying to the almighty powers Jason Krog is sent down to Hartford.
That's another body down there though, which is not a problem right now, but as the Junior/College season starts to wind down, there could be a log-jam of forwards on the team for the end of the season/playoffs in Pyatt, Russell, Dupont, Olver, Hillier, Roche, Ryan and Hunter (I don't think all of these guys will get ATO's or contracts but probably 3 or 4 will)
Reading the thread on the Trade/Rumors board, it seems like it could be a mistake. Kovalev was taken off IR and they waived someone else on the team. So it again could be a mistake.
i like how cajanek is a viable replacement for nylander.. the guy's never scored more than 41 points in his career
I never said that...of course Cajanek wont get as many points as Nylander. But if we put Cajanek on 2nd line...we can give one of your young centers, like Dubinsky, a shot at playing on the 1st line.
AP mistake, Kovalev NOT on waivers. Zednik to the Islanders for 2nd round pick. (This i guess should be discussed in the non-rangers trade thread though)
Canadiens representative Donald Beauchemp, who laughed off the report, told TFP, "No, no no. Aaron Downey has been played on waivers. Not Kovalev (laughter)."
1. Salary - Berard's contract is only $2.5 mill...which means we'll owe him less than $1 mill for rest of this season.
2. History - Berard started his career with the New York Islanders. I think that would give him some extra motivation for when we play the Islanders 4 more times this season.
3. Berard's play - Sure, he is not great on defense. Yet, if used properly, he can help us. We can use him as a powerplay specialist who will play mostly the powerplay...while maybe playing 5-10 minutes 5 on 5 on our 3rd D pairing.
I would take a chance on him. We can get him off waivers without giving up anyone, which is nice. If he ends up playing like Ozolinsh, then we simply sit him.
So let be get this straight; a lefthanded Rachunek with less vision and physical play. Is the plan to send Lundqvist into erly retirement or back Sweden? Which one?
anyone else a little nervous by the lack of moves so far. I have a strange feeling that either nothing will happen, or Lundqvist will go to some random team. Obviously a exaguration but i'm a little weary(sp)
i agree, something is gonna happen, i could see sather going after JR, but personally id rather try and just pick up cajanek and see what he does rather than trade a pick or prospect for JR
You will very rarely get good players off waivers. Just think about how much teams are overpaying right now, and the Blues aren't even ASKING for anything back for this guy.
