I also remember the 08-09 season when the Habs won 1 game out of the 6 games against the Bruins in the regular season and the Bruins then sweeping them in the playoffs. Sometimes the regular season record does mean something heading into the playoffs.

Yeah but we had so many injuries + that season was **** after the All-Star game. No Tanguay, no Markov, no Schneider, etc. The Bruins were clearly the better team.

Nobody really knows who's the better team right now between the Habs and the Bolts.

Bouillon-Subban is a disaster. MT is essentially handicapping his best player, then punishing him for it by playing him for 17 mins.

Unbelievable for all us...and yet MT continues to make these kinds of decisions...can you imagine for a second, if Subban was on the Bruins or Leafs, Flyers...he would be geting 26.00 to 28.00 minutes every night...and he wouldn't be paired with a guy who should be eating popcorn in the press gallery.

We couldn't get zone time against the Bolts. Meanwhile, they were hitting posts and getting delicious scoring chances left and right but Carey Price and the posts saved the day. Really, the Habs are where they are because of Price and not the forward and defense corps as a whole.

It's so frustrating. Fortunately, Gorges should be back for the playoffs.

Show up.

Tampa is 1 of 3 teams Montreal could intimidate. Detroit is another... I'm sure Montreal could intimidate themselves.

I can point 3 different plays in 3 different games where Tinordi turned the puck over and we got scored on. Yes he could play here and there but only as a 6th dman.

It is quite evident that habs will need a guy like Beaulieu in the line up to help the transition.

The best scenario would also be to have Emelin play on his side because Tampa has ton of speed.

Emelin - Subban
Markov - Gorges
Beaulieu - Weaver

Emelin plays very well with Markov, give Gorges back to Subban. The rest I agree, I wanna se Beaulieu so bad, he helps out rhythm so much!!!!!

The key to win is having a speedy strong defence

Markov Emelin
Bouillon-Subban
Gorges-Weaver

Keys to beating Tampa Bay in the first round?

Stop the hot dogging Subban plain and simple two somewhat evenly matched teams one hot dog. Great player but has to enter the zone on a powerplay with a less risky play!

Therrien is that you?

If anyone messed up an entry on a powerplay with a great cost last night it was David Desharnais.

What the hell??? That was DD... the least you could do is watch the game before making a comment.

Really how? Subban was caring the play into the zone and the puck when it was turned over? Am I wrong?

How about when Subban had the puck behind the net in the last part of the third lost it and result turned it over to the Bolts in our zone is that DD's fault too?

You'd think a guy named Gomez91 would know a thing or two about turnovers when entering the zone.

We're not very good against Tampa, our systems clash.

If we were playing about Boston or Pittsburgh we could use a system/style of play to work against them, but Tampa plays a fast game like we do and we're not very good at stopping them. And the games are pretty boring against them, there's no flow.

We'll need to step up our game.

Not to worry stjonny, we have a master technician behind the bench in Michel Ther--I can't even bring myself to type it

Like some people have brought up, playing Murray against a team as fast the Lightning is stupid. They only have one big player who stands in front of the net (Malone) and he might not even play during the playoffs. I don't think Tinordi is ready for the NHL just yet and him vs TB is a bad fit. I would call up Beaulieu and make him play with Weaver.

Desharnais was carrying the puck not Subban and he lost the puck at their blue line, so yes you are wrong.

Me neither, which is why i'm predicting that MTL is done in 6. I like the team with Vanek, I simply think they're weak on the backend, and crumble under physical play.
