I have a feeling Habs let Tokarski go this off season to make room for Mike Condon.

Why not let Mayer go to Switzerland, or trade him for whatever they can get ?

Dogs need Tokarski, some actual good AHL vets and a better coach.

Dogs don't view Vail highly. Made him sit the too many men penalty.

Because he has high end skill at making the Habs management want him.

Condon needs to be part of the future for this Habs organization. What a great year he's having and frankly, technically, he was already impressive in the summer camp. Enough with the Mayer experiment. Come on. The only duo I want to see next year is Tokarski-Condon. That's it.

Dumont apparently poked it in on the scramble.

What is Ellis' role on the team? Is he top 4 or bottom pair? +/- doesn't mean much but on such a bad team where everyone is minus he's a +8.

Agreed. Condon got his 2nd straight shutout tonight and is arguably top 3 goalie in ECHL right now. Seems to do well every league he plays in and had a decent showing in his AHL stints.

2014/2015: NHL(Price/Budaj) AHL (Tokarski/Condon)
Condon eased into AHL with Tokarski getting the bulk of the games. With Budaj's contract up soon, I don't see why Tokarski won't want to stay in the AHL either. He can realistically work his way to a backup role in another season.

2015/2016: NHL(Price/Tokarski) AHL (Condon/Fucale)
Condon will be full time AHL starter and Fucale will play backup. Condon could challenge Tokarski for his spot.

Adding Jack Nevins & Connor Crisp to the Bulldogs will give them some swagger with Tarnaski, Fournier & Courtnall, this gives them some physicality to deal with the rigors in the AHL. Also the playmakers will be given space and time to work their magic, without the constant abuse they receive when teammates can't take care of goons.

From what I've seen from Andrighetto he has a chance to become a hell of an nhler.

Agreed on Condon/Mayer . Yes, I remember your favorable notes on him from the dev. camp.
I think MB did a good job shoring up the goalie position in the summer with signing of Condon and drafting of Fucale.

I doubt he did any of the scouting on either of them. Based on interviews however he might have had an influence on taking Fucale 36th instead of 34th since they wanted both but didn't know who will be taken 35th.

Any chance he'll join the Habs after the Bulldogs season ends?

I'm thinking whether Tokarski stays or goes will be mostly up to him. I can't imagine why the Habs wouldn't at least offer him a contract to continue as the #3 guy. But I can't imagine they make it an especially lucrative one. $650k/$150k-ish... minor upgrade on his current deal, something that just edges over Mayer's deal, something like that?

In which case it comes down to whether or not Tokarski himself wants to give it one more year in the org as a #3 guy, or if he wants to go for more $$$ on a European deal. Hopefully the little stint he had during Price's injury might make him more inclined to stay on. But you couldn't really blame him either if he walks away for a better payday.

Tarnasky and Courtnall are both FA's after the season I think so they may not return.

#Habs Vail: There’s no word about signing, (the #Canadiens) just wanted me to come & play so they can be confident with their decision.

HabsLinks ‏@HabsLinks · 1m
#Habs Vail: “I have eight games to show them I’m worthy of a contract and I plan on doing everything I can to make that happen”

Sounds like they plan on signing Vail.

These tweets makes it look like they are hesitant to sign him.
