Quick question, can Seth Jones be sent down to Milwaukee at the end of the season? He's on an ELC BUT he's only 19 yo.

Also, Sissons, Ekholm, Ellis, Iron Hook, are on ELC's too. Would Nashville send ALL of them down?

No about Jones due to his deal with the Winterhawks.

A junior-aged (under 20) player with an NHL contract cannot be sent to the AHL unless he has already played four seasons of junior hockey. If he doesn't stick with the NHL roster he must be returned to his junior club. There have been occasional exceptions, particularly for players arriving from Europe.
So no on Jones. Only 19 and only 3 seasons of juniors.

I definitely see Sissons and Iron Hook coming back. Ekholm and Ellis I question and if they only decide on sending one of them, I see it being Ekholm, though both would be nice.

1. Is Seattle's season over? I vaguely recall that they're playing in the WHL playoffs.

2. Could he be sent down on a rehab assignment, due to the "Upper Body Injury"?

I'm pretty sure once the professional contract kicks in, going back to junior is not an option

Can't imagine that ellis isn't subject to waivers by now. Not sure about ekholm. Also have the ahl teams already posted their Clear Day rosters? Any player not on that isn't eligible for the playoffs.

Ekholm is 23 and may be sent down as long as he has not completed 60 games in the NHL. This year he has played 57 games and played 1 game last season. I am not sure if the games are counted cumulative.

Ellis has played 74 games so due to the 60 game rule for a 23 year old would be exposed.

Are you sure? I know the Wild let Dumba play like 10 or 12 days so his contract kicked in and then sent him back to the WHL.

They got rid of clear day rosters iirc.

Capgeek has a great tool for determining waiver status.

Ellis is exempt from waivers currently, but loses exemption after 5 more games played (funny enough, that's exactly how many games we have left this season)

Ekholm is also exempt from waivers, and loses his exemption starting next season.

IIRC, it has been 3 years since there were Clear Day rosters.

I think that Juniors can sign ATOs for the playoffs once their team has finished playing for the season.

At the beginning of a season, a Junior can play 9 NHL games and go back. I believe that with 10 games, they are committed. They can't play for an AHL or ECHL level team, they must go back to their Junior team.

Was hurt most of the year, but seems to be his usual solid-but-unspectacular self once he came back.

Patrick Cehlin got punched in the head by Ryan Hartman as he was leaving the ice. Just get rid of that entire garbage franchise.

Edit: Admirals win 3-1. Now need 3 points to clinch a playoff spot.

Rockford can't make the playoffs because they have too many goons, like Shea and Mills. Hartman wasn't the only cheap shot in the game. I blame Ted Dent for the goonish behavior of 1/3 of his team every season.

I assume that you are speaking about Diaby.

He is big and fast. He blended in well. I saw him paired with Piskula. He lost his stick on the Rockford goal. I didn't see that part, but I will guess that he had help. When he tried to pick up his stick, I saw at least one IceHog kick it away from him towards the Rockford blue line. He peeled back to the bench and grabbed another stick. By the time that he got to the top of the circle, the puck was in the Milwaukee net.

The IceHogs tried to take advantage of him. They pushed him around after the whistle in the first period. He stood his ground until another Admiral came in to make it 2 versus 2. Next shift, Diaby hammered a guy into the boards near the Ads bench. I like him!

Good news. He's one I really wanted to see at camp. With his frame and speed, he should be a good one.

Leipsic is dominating during the Playoffs so far, with 8G 10A in 8 Game. (2,25PPG)

Does everyone still claim his offensive skills won't translate to the NHL?
