Wasn't Rinaldo's first suspension that hit in the Red Wings game?

that barely was a penalty.

Yeah, but it's cancelled out by that hit on a Pen which should have been a suspension but wasn't.

Well he sucks at hockey and can't control himself, so yeah, I'd like to see someone better on the roster.

But does 2 bad suspensions in a year for basically an enforcer really make him a bad player? He grinds like no other, almost leads the team in hits, can drop the gloves when the team needs a pick-me-up, and can even sometimes come out of the game with a point.

He's no G or Simmonds, but he's definitely not a plug. He's a 3rd line player FFS, what do you expect?
It was a dumb hit in the modern era, but the Dman has to take some responsibility. In the olden days (ca. 1910-2010) when that was a great friggin' hit, no D would leave themselves exposed to hit like that. If you had the puck and guy was coming at you full bore, you got rid of the puck with wrister and bailed or took the hit instead of following through with a full wind up that left your melon at waist height.

Rinaldo's been a great player for the Flyers this year. He had a couple really good games at 3LW with Read and Couts too. His hitting is driving people crazy, and when he can crush a guy, then beat the crap out of him like he did with Iginla, it's just a bonus.

People may not like hm, but I can assure you that every Dman we face is aware when he's on the ice, as they know they forget about him at their peril.

And if he takes a suspension once in a while, I'm OK with that too. It never hurts if the other team has it in the back of their mind, 'Mmmm, if I go get this puck, Zac might finish my season.....'

We need him back to wreak havoc on McDonagh's sore shoulder, so I hope the suspension isn't too long.

Needed the assist for the Zac Trick. Goal, assist, match penalty.

Sabres lost the defensemen Rinaldo hit and the goalie last night due to concussions. Likely the rosehill elbow to the side of the head late in the game for the goalie, or potentially the kick in the head on the brayden schenn deflection. Apparently he's got concussion issues from before.

So now a defenseman isn't supposed to shoot the puck

How about putting all the blame on the mental midget Rinaldo for doing something completely unnecessary and dirty. No reason for a hit like that after he played a great game. His charging penalty was two minutes for being Zac Rinaldo. If he could cut the stupidity out of his game he could be a consistent third line player.

I didn't see the replay but this was on ASF's twitter:

Weber cross-checked Rosehill into the goalie 2 draw another poor penalty call & then scored on the same shift for his 1st goal. 5-2 #Flyers

Rinaldo is hopeless, the whole point of being an agitator is to get the OTHER team to take stupid penalties and lose their cool, when you do that to your own team you're a liability - and at this point there's no evidence he will ever grow a brain and become a useful player.

Smart players know HOW to play dirty and not get caught, dumb players play dirty because they think it makes them "tough" and don't understand when and why they should do those little tricks to get an edge, and when one should be imitating a choir boy.

Sorry but the Dman didn't follow adage #1: If you can't take the hit, don't take the shot. Let's face it, 5 years ago that isn't even a penalty, just a good solid shoulder check to the head of a dummy who tried to get a shot off when he didn't have time.

Rinaldo got his 4 games, that's fine. He'll be back for the playoffs and you can be sure that whoever we play will have their heads on swivel and start coughing up the puck or making rushed passes to avoid a ZacAttack. We're a faster, tougher team with him in the lineup driving the other team crazy.

Quit hating on Rinaldo. Part of the reason I watch hockey is for big hits and fights, and he brings that.

I prefer goals and overall solid play, and Rinaldo brings precious little of either.

Larry, you are a gigantic homer. Sorry to say it, but its true. Rinaldo didn't need to hit this guy in the head, in a game that was out of hand especially. The defensemen was making a perfectly reasonable hockey play. Victim blaming here is absurd.

We're a faster, tougher, worse, and more dumb team with Zac in the lineup. In a must win game up 3-0 the guy couldn't stay out of the penalty box. I like the guy's effort but I've had enough of guys that can't stay out of the box and don't know how to pick spots.

Enjoy him while you can. If he can't learn to do something else that's useful apart from being a human cannonball he'll probably be out of the league in a few years.

hey guys, quick question. Noticed in your GDT OP that Vinny centres your 4th line? Is that always the case?

No, it just happened recently after the coach finally realized playing him at 2LW was a terrible idea.

The tie break for playoff position is regulation + OT wins, correct? Also, it would be very nice if the Pens could beat Detroit tonight. We need Detroit as the 8th seed in case we slip into the WC.

as Curufinwe said Vinny wasn't born to play as a winger and he's not good at it so moving him to the 4th line is the best option for the team and he's doing very good in his original position 7points(5g) in 7games.

That's the first tie-breaker, yeah.

The second tie-breakers is points earned in head-to-head macthes.

The third tie-breaker is season long goal differential.
