I had this conversation with a friend of mine this weekend to highlight why the Leafs lose all their prospects who then develop ornot on other teams.

They put such a high level of expectations on their rookie (yes, higher than Mtl) and if the player doesn't reach those expectations, they're considered a bust and the fans quickly turn on them. They've done this time and time again with their prospects.

I think Kadri has a great skill set and would love to see him in a Habs uniform depending on the cost. I think the Leafs owe us one for Grabo for a 2nd to maybe they'll take Leblanc and a 2nd for Kadri.

One thing seems clear, Kadri seems to have worn out his welcome in Toronto and Toronto seems to have had it's fill of kadri. I'd imagine they'll try hard to trade him and I'd happily have him on this team in place of Briere's $4M for Kadri's $2.9M!

Assuming we don't trade a roster player and can manage to trade Bork and or Briere, I could see this lineup next year:

Patches DD Vanek
Galchenyuk Plex Gally
Kadri Eller Gio
Moen Prust Wiese

Nice part about Kadri is in the future, we could ice Galchenyuk, Kadri and Eller as the top 3 centres, all over 6' and with the size of the younger prospects i.e. McCaron, DLR, Crisp etc, we'd have a very fast, large, physical team in the next 3-5 years and for a long time to come.

That being said, his lack of percieved karacter probably means he'll never be a target to begin with.

It's not fair to Kadri. He's a Maple Leaf. Off course he'll golf a lot.

Kadri is a total punk, but he does have a good skill set and i'd take him in a second, could you image him and subban on the same team, the league would go ape ****

Kadri would be a good fit on this team I think. There is easily enough leadership on the team to bring him into the fold without any disruptions and him and Subban trolling would be hilarious.

I'm not sure what the price would be but I would imagine something along the lines of Eller for Kadri. Not sure I'd do that but if it was a prospect and a pick I would be all for it.

I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean? Is it a compliment? Certainly, nobody wants to be playing like a leaf.

I'll tell you one thing, kadri seems to be one of the more dangerous leaf players when they play the habs. I think it would be silly to dump him. A hockey trade should always be considered, but they shouldn't be trying to get rid of him.

Meh. He's Muslim. Good for him I say. I like when cultural minorities have good role models that makes them relate with the rest the majority (HOCKEY!!! ).

There's nothing wrong with Islamic fundraisers, man. Let's not devolve into stereotypes.

I'm not sure if you think this is a photoshop, but it's a legit advertisement for a fundraiser.

Maybe it is the diving or the dekeing. Not grindy enough for a tough Maple Leaf, even with Cherry's kiss of approval.

Would be Eller + for Kadri..

Kadri has more point than Eller in over 100 less games.. His upside his better. I'd say be like Eller + Pick + Lower grade prospect

Speaking of Cherry. I wonder how long it would take for him to hate Kadri if he got traded to the Habs. My guess, 7 minutes.

You overestimate Cherry's sense of professionalism.

Once he smartens up and learns to play physical from the get go and not when someone drills him he'll be better.

Once he learns to not shy away from the game once he gets hit, he'll be fine.

Once he learns the defensive side of the game, he'll be fine.

Needless to say, Kadri has some work to go.

Sens and Leafs are nearing the end of their seasons. Both aren't happy with their respective team and organizations. Yes, so sweet!

If the Leafs don't want Kadri... I'd love him in Bleu, Blanc et Rouge. The kid is RFA in 2016 (edit: error, it's 2015) though. Would have to be via trade. Leafs won't ever trade him to us.

Wasn't Kadri a Habs fan growing up? Would be awesome to see him come here on an offer sheet.

Doubt the Leafs will really part with Kadri though, unless the trade offer is interesting.
