Habs always seem to play well recently vs. Chicago, with Toews and Kane out I still think Habs could win. Nice to see Tinordi and Beaulieu both getting to play.

Perhaps the schedule maker is also a bookmaker and didn't think the odds of us making the playoffs were realistic...

I have no problem with the decision. Only question I have is why tomorrow and not Saturday? We still have not clinched second spot.

BTW-Markov's iron men streak will end. So unfair.

I like this. In fact I was hoping for this. Their next 2 games are meaningless. I wouldn't mind if Budaj goes against Chicago, Tokarski against the Isles and then Price in the final game against the Rangers.

Hope they rest some guys against the Isles on Thursday as well.

I'm thinking it's because of the back-to-back games. I'm fine with the decision.

The next games are meaningless in term of points.

But they mean a lot regarding our morale and work ethics. Let's see us trying GET THESE GAMES

Reason we're going with the rested lineup tomorrow is the last two games are at home

Briere score a goal you are at 299 career goals so Montreal can get rid of you this off season.
Other than Reilly, does Toronto even have any decent prospects??

Hearing this actually makes me happy. It keeps the fan base under the illusion that have a great team, with a fully stocked stable of stud prospects and that this year was a weird anomoly or bad luck in their 8 game skid. Really, they are actually perrennial Stanley Cup contenders and need to sign the one piece i.e. Bolland to a 7 year $35MM contract to seal the deal. Really, Toronto is THAT good.

As the Blackhawks are without Toews and Kane, no this isn't an attempt to lose the game. Also, the possible reason why MT chose the Chicago game is because it is the away game of the back to back so he is saving his 3 players from having to make the road trip which in some cases can be as draining as the game itself. Had the Islanders game been away and the Chicago game at home then he likely would have done the opposite in regards of which game his players get off.

It gives the coaches a chance to give Gorges + PK reunion serious ice time and to evaluate his #5-8 dmen for playoff starts.

Markov and subban have been limping around recently. Emelin left the Ottawa game for a while. I guess they simply aren't close enough to 100% to continue.

No surprise with price. Budaj usually seems to get the road game of a b2b.

I would have hoped to secure home ice before resting players, but maybe they are more hurt than we want to believe.

I'd like to see...

Pacioretty - Desharnais - Vanek
Briere - Plekanec - Gallagher
Galchenyuk - Eller - Gionta
Bournival/Bourque - White - Weise

Gorges - Subban
Tinordi - Weaver
Boullion - Beaulieu

Resting Markov, finally. Hope MT doesn't play him 26 min a night down the stretch as well.

Will we finally see PK on the PK?

How has Gorges looked in practise? Are they planning to give him first pairing minutes on his first game back?

That's a "L" in the calendar.

But Habs are the Habs and when just when you think it's a sure loss...

4-3 OT for the Hawks. Max Pac gets #40.

Scratching Markov and Emelin is sadly the most tactical thing Therrien has ever done
