Left Grossman out to dry tonight, and gets no blame... Just cuz he gives more points than Gross, doesn't mean he is immune to criticism.

Matt Carle, renowned defensive stalwart.

So overrated and thus far, not as good as Streit has been. Streit can at least lead a middle pairing. He can also at least shoot and qb a pp. The grass is always greener.

The coaching staff has clearly told Streit to start activating more in the offensive zone. But, that was supposed to be his role with the club from the start. Often, you need that guy to break down the defensive systems of the league today.

Thumbs up. Man has this guy been good over the past couple of months.

I'm sure I'm not alone, but I love having that cannon of a shot back there.

9 goals on the year. He'd probably have 15 if he were playing on the 1st PP unit.

Streit's been good for us this year. Being the newest player on the team, no one should have been expecting him to be the answer to the club's horrific start, and he was actually one of the only players sparking some offense for stretches in Oct. 32 Pts. He's put up 12 ppp mostly on the 2nd unit, where he's unrightfully stuck. Has the unchallenged, most dangerous point shot on the team. Doesn't impress or depress me defensively. We need his experience back there and he's a way better fit than Carle.

He is like a forward used as a defenseman. Nobody expects much of him in his own end except for outlet passes and zone clears.

And yes, his positioning has been questionable for a Veteran defenseman lately!

With year 1 coming to an end, I have to say overall I've been impressed. His play in his own zone was better than I thought heading into the season.

39 points without #1 unit PP time.

And with plenty of time as what appears to be the only competent guy on the #2 unit.

he may not have the wheels he once had but he is shifty as hell and has no problem skating it out of the zone. I couldn't be happier with him on both ends of the ice.

Streit might get 50 pts if he gets #1 power play time next year.

I think he will too. Even if they resign Kimmo they're going to need to find a way to limit his minutes. He's looked gassed at certain points lately, and you have to wonder if the minutes are catching up to him.

Yea, Holmgren has ransacked the Islanders pretty good in the calendar year.

Mac was the Isle's top minutes D in the Playoffs before getting injured last year.

At least they got picks for Streit and Macdonald instead of just letting them walk away for nothing.

I really had some issues with him, at least defensively. Glad it turned out to be not that big of a problem, although I couldn't watch many Flyers games live.
His experience and hunger for playoffs could be valuable for you, it took him long to get there, he looked very good last year, really stepped his game up in the post season.
Shame he doesn't get more PP time, he could've reached the 50 pts mark once again.
Nontheless, I think age isn't catching him so far, since he came to the League very late.

i think Gill will play around 12-15min, Streit usually gets 18-20min so he'll spend some time with AMac.
