Draisaitl is considered one of the riskiest players in the first round. I don't think we can gamble there.

My ideal picks that could be there in the 6-9 range we should be picking in are Nylander, Ehlers, Ritchie, in that order.

What is it that makes Draisaitl risky? I've seen almost none of him this year other than highlights.

Skating, defensive awareness, lack of physicality.

If Trotz is gone after the season I see us taking Nylander or Ehlers..whichever one is available.

He seems to have issues with consistency. In some rankings, he had fallen out of the top ten altogether after a *terrible* world junior championship.

I think hope one of Nylander Ritchie Ehlers will fall to us around 8-11, and it might happen. Nylander might fall because he's on the small side and playing in europe where he won't get as much attention. Ritchie honestly, I think is the least likely to fall hard because his powerfoward esque stature will have teams looking to pick him up since you can't teach size. Ehlers is a big question mark, on one hand he's been rising it seems all towards the end of the season here but some places are underrating him still, perhaps on the belief that he is a product of playing on a very strong team and sharing the PP with Drouin.

Jake Virtanen looks like a really good prospect to me, that could be there when we pick.

That's one I like a lot that I could see being of interest if Trotz is gone. Deadly sniper, but virtually no game without the puck. Reminds me a bit of vintage Dany Heatley.

Still finished the WJC with 6 Points in 6 Games as an underager on a bad German Team. More Points than Drouin and MacKinnon had in their underage WJCs combined, one less Point than Barkov had in his underage WJC. More Points than F.Forsberg had in his WJC the season after he was drafted.
I don't want to say that he will be as good as MacKinnon, my point is that the myth about his "terrible" WJC is overblown.
Everyone expected him to dominate, after the amazing WJC he had the year before as a double-underager.
Unfortunately he couldn't dominated as hoped but it isn't easy to shine playing on a bad German Team.
He still finished with 6P in 6 games. Heck, MacKinnon had 1 Point last year and still was the 1st Overall and now has 62 Points in 79 games.
So there you can see that having a bad WJC doesn't mean anything at all.

If he falls to us we should take him without hesitating imo. He is exactly what we need.
A big offensive Center with 70+ Points potential.
Slick Hands, great passer, good shooter, elite vision and iq.
He needs to work on his skating as it is average at best compared to his other skills.
Sounds like Barkov from last year , (maybe) not as good as Barkov but he is close.

Draitsaitl finished the Season with 105 Points in 64 Games.
No Draft eligible Player from the CHL has more Points than Draitsaitl.

He was invidetd to the German WC Camp and had his first game today, where he scored one assist.

And in the lastest rankings he is in everywehres Top 10.
THN Futures Watch has him at #1, ISS #6, Button #4, Central Scouting #4 (NA Players)

I would take him in the Top 3 for sure and the Preds would be stupid to pass on him if he fell to them at the Draft.

The Canucks are ahead of us, so hopefully they have a bad draft!

Missing the playoffs and not getting at least a top 10 pick is really the worst thing a team can do. Until this team does really bad or gets really lucky with a mid-round pick we will never have a cup in Nashville. The complete lack of a dynamic scoring forward who can dominate games is just not in the lineup. It would be nice to have a player that you get up out of your seat every time they hit the ice because you know they can create offense at any given moment. That is what this team lacks and we won't be getting it in this draft for sure as we have played ourselves out of any chance at one of the top forwards who have the skill to become one of those types of players.

Maybe Poile will let Trotz walk and we can be really bad next season while transitioning to a new coach and pick high next year. I'll be watching the Preds no matter what but this is what really needs to happen before we can have a parade for our players.

I will laugh my ass off if the Devils in the lottery tomorrow.

Preds have a 1.1% chance to win.

They will have a redraw if that happens. Preds pick 11th with the Devils not picking there and thanks to the winning in April. Fluery will be the pick

You keep saying that like Poile has picked a d-man in the first round instead of a better forward since...2003?

I can near guarantee you they will not take Fleury.

Someone we could use. Put him with Wilson.

He is ranked 8th on the ISS list but was in the 20's on the midterm ranking. Not a bad prospect but his country of birth should not be the reason the Predators take him.

If Ehlers is still available at 11th (I expect him to be gone by then though), we pick him. Saw him play last year in Biel and boy is he skilled!
