Im sure we all know how good the Pens have been of late. They had that tremenous streak with points in 16 straight games. Now they have Roberts and Laraque. Colton Orr better be prepared to take a beating on Thursday night. The only thing is that Fleury has not been particularly good lately, but that doesnt seem to matter because every teams goalies stand on their head when they play the Rangers. Any thoughts on tomorrows game?
the Rangers can easily beat the Pens, or they can narrowly be beaten. They're Jeckyll and Hyde and predicting what they might do is nearly impossible. They'll either give up a one goal lead and lose 3-2, or they're winning 4-1. That's the way this team has played most of this season.
I personally think that the key to beating the Pens, besides trying your best to contain Crosby and co., is to make their D work and get pucks to the net. This is a game were Avery being parked in front of the net should help get MAF off his game and just do what he does best, annoy. The D from what little(very little) is still young and prone to making mistakes, so if the Rangers can get pressure on and keep it on it would be very much to their advantage.Who knows what will happen tomorrow, but I sure would like a win lol.
I'll be at this one. Avery vs. Laraque should be quite fun
We need every game against teams in front of us. As good as Pittsburgh has played, I believe they are only 11 points in front of us. We won't catch them, but it would send a message showing that we have played a good team pretty evenly this season.
Also, The history between Avery and Laraque is certainly interesting to say the least. Considering the Accusation by Laraque of Avery calling him a "monkey", this should be a sickgame. I cant wait to get to MSG tomorrow night
I think replacing Dom Moore with Gary Roberts was not the smartest thing in the world. We may have to exploit the Roberts line weakness.
Just curious, but what line weakness are you talking about? Roberts is playing on the top line with Sid and Recchi, at least to start the game. Moore wasn't really doing anything special for us anyway, his IT decreased, and Talbot took his place on the 3rd line.
