Perhaps the mods should sticky this topic and just keep dumping updates into it.

I think I was reading on Yahoo sports,or si.com and they were saying he thinks he will be back before the end of the season. Take that for what you will.

I think it's gonna be a while. If the Rangers were a playoff team, he would probably be back for the playoffs.

Brendan Shanahan is fighting an inner-ear problem after that crushing collision with Mike Knuble. Let's hope he recovers, unlike Oilers GM Kevin Lowe, who still has a little trouble with motion sickness. The bright lights in rinks were also hard on Lowe at the end

from march 3rd, doesn't sound like he will be playing anytime soon

"Brendan Shanahan's weekly visit to neurologist Claude Macaluso Friday afternoon went well but not well enough. Though he did better on tests and was told he's improving, Shanahan still is suffering from vertigo and has not been cleared to resume physical activity.
In other words, don't count on him for at least another couple of weeks.

"He was happy with what he saw," Shanahan said of Macaluso after yesterday's game. "Nothing really new to report. He felt I had made an improvement from when I'd seen him last. And he said, 'Keep going in this direction. Keep improving.'

"He still thinks it would be counterproductive with the symptoms to do anything (physical) yet. Just vertigo. No other symptoms."

sounds like bad news to me and with tyutin essentially bein out the rest of the season, and straka's service in doubt, we really could use the call up of a scoring forward

Shanny at MSG

I randomly decided to go to the NY Titans lacrosse game Saturday night at MSG (more a Z100 radio show then a game, but some solid action none the less)
Anyway Shanahan was at the game, watching from the blue seats - was put on the scoreboard to a nice ovation, was met with a rush of kids and looked in good spirits.
Hate to look into this too much, but thought it was nice to see for two reasons: 1) possible sign he isnt experience the post-concussion symptoms of depression/irregular sleep (oh, and aversion to bright lights, cause MSG was not shy with the strobe lights thoughout the match
2) perhaps another sign he is enjoying what NYC has to offer and will resign

btw, for those upset at the amount of Toronto fans that "invaded" MSG for the Maple Leafs game, there was a massive amount of Toronto Rocks (!?!) fans Sat. night, so get over it, thats just what they do.

Oh no. You have to be careful with the cloning technology. One Avery might be good, but an army of Clone Averys could threaten the balance of our world.

lol Could we just do it for tom. game 4 lines of Avery omg ahaha the Islanders would just throw in the towel by the 2nd Period. Even if we lost a game like that it would be fun as hell seeing Avery clones everywhere in the Isl's faces and on Dipi doe
