I recorded this game on the PVR and foolishly did not get it to tape after its end time. I watched it a little after it ended and the recording stopped with 1 min left and the Habs at 2-1. I thought impressive performance! well played! What could possibly go wrong in a minute? Went up to bed and on my way I thought I will just check the score (just in case). I stared at the screen in disbelief!! They Lost? WTF?? Then I saw how they lost and I was even more disgusted. I know it doesnt really matter that much but what a waste of an effort. Those kind of stupid defensive breakdowns are going to get us killed in the playoffs

I'm legitimately curious if you know this or not.

The reason a LOT OF PEOPLE believe that Varlamov's EX-Girlfriend made the whole thing up was because she was (through her attorney) charging money for interviews...

Yop. Lets move on. Bad goals happen. At least it was not a playoff game 7 goal. Im happy because we show the Hawks we can compete to their level. Seriously, its a rare time that im not angry that we lose. We deserve that point.

I never realized how good of a play maker he has before he got to Montreal.

great playmaker, and always around the net...(Vanek )

Buds played a good game, and then the OT gaffe...no biggie...he still played well and the team will learn from this...

Like it's been said in the injury thread, people think it's some sort of ligament streching. 2 to 4 weeks. chuckie could get out of the ice by himself, and actually tried to play a shift after getting injured. This does not indicate a tear.

Which is the timetable for a full recovery. You know hockey players... and you know the playoffs...

Not condoning playing injured, especially with a young guy like Galchenyuk, but it's definitely a reality that Galchenyuk plays this series not completely 100%.

Domestic violence is a real problem in our societies and what he wrote is true (doesn't mean the truth is that Varlamov did it either... just that when the charges are drop, it doesn't necessarely mean he didn't do it).

Where did I say that DV isn't a problem? I didn't, I merely pointed out why there is a contingent of people, both male and female, who believed Varly was innocent because of a lot of information that came out, among them being that she was charging money for interviews.

It's become a bit tiring of the people on the internet in general who are still vilifying him just because he was accused. It's like, if you or anyone else was accused of something that you say you didn't do (as he's publicly stated as such) and you had people still hammering that it might get tiring don't you think? At the end of the day the only thing the public knows is that accusations were made and the case was dismissed by the District Attorney before it even went to court.

In reality here, on the Canadiens board, it doesn't matter, I'm seriously not trying to hijack your thread but was attempting to insert information that may not have been known.

Good game against the Hawks, obviously I was wanting you guys to win, but it didn't happen...however I do think your team controlled the play a lot and looked good without some of your key players out.

(Again, my sincerest apologies for interrupting the thread)

Adrian Dater on TSN 690 this morning:

Was he drunk or something? He kept slurring his words and said that he wouldn't trade Varlamov for Price straight up.

He's an idiot, plain and simple. He's looking for attention by trolling instead of doing any actually intelligent reporting. Say what you will about Dave Stubbs but at least he remains classy.

Beaulieu handled the puck with authority, skated well and really looked like a vet. I think he made maybe one dangerous intercepted pass (and another cross ice pass that was risky but found the target) but otherwise moved the puck and defended well. He had a nice rush for a scoring chance in close.

Wow I just listened. What a complete moron. How do people like this find jobs reporting the NHL.

Dave Stubbs is what he is. The only criticism you can ever array against him is that he does more fluff pieces and go deeper in character than actual fact.

But otherwise, he's a professional who tries to do his job well.

These 2 are close right now, but I think Beaulieu has a way higher upside. He just "gets" the game better, is poised with the puck on his stick, and has the skating and puck handling skills to make things happen out there. I was loving his game last night.

Not a slight against Tinordi, he obviously brings that size and toughness we like to have.

We need to take the step next year and move these 2 into bottom pairing duty permanently.

I'm thinking that Beaulieu's game is a prime example of a player's abilities that translate well from the AHL to the NHL level. He's actually looked more solid in the NHL, even though he hasn't put up many points.

The last time I thought the announcer was drunk due to slurring it was Tony Proudfoot so I'll give Dater the benefit of the doubt for now. Also, Knuckles sounds hammered every day and he doesn't drink any more if I remember correctly.
